I don't quite understand the complaints about the drumming in this... I mean, these cats are just having a nice, pretty jazzy jam. The stuff he's playing? It fits here pretty well. If he wants to do 67x more than your simple 4/4 quarter note-full hihat with a snare on the 3, let him. The kid's got chops, and he's enjoying himself. If you're not his real dad, don't tell him how to live his life, let alone play his drums. That aside, you guys are amazing and deserve more credit than most "famous" musicians get. :D
A&J Games Agreed-his style kinda reminds me of Mark Colenburg, whose main style is jazz (as he plays with Robert Glasper)-it fits, well.
You're not wrong. It's a jam and that's the time to experiment, but he is over playing and kinda fell out the pocket at times imo. I think that's a fair criticism.
Its just haters who can't play what he's playing!
It takes a good amount of time to be able to play what you are hearing in your head. Best way is to just practice, probably heard that before, but it's true. lol. I've only been playing for almost a year and man do I wish I could understand concepts like this guy.

Drummer was mad cool but I just wished he kept the pocket for a bit. His stuff is rlly cool but if I were playing bass or guitar I would want the drummer to lay the groove a bit before wilding out. Rlly cool stuff tho
