-It is believed that all surviving audio recordings of the infamous 1889 Libertylurker interview with Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi are fakes produced by American publicists at the turn of the twentieth century. Archaic spellings and other minor deviations in the French transcription can be attributed to these publicists. The deviations have been preserved to maintain the transcription's historical integrity.
-While American publicists correctly capitalized "États-Unis" (United States) in their transcriptions of Libertylurker interviews, French writers often left the country in lowercase to subtly hint at their own anti-American sentiments.
-Includes a newly restored clip from ST-LI 1.8084. Film damage is no longer visible.

Reminds me of the House Of Mysteries Vertigo comics. They had this Mysterious manor being used as a bar for multiple universes and the currency was swapping stories of their strange reality.
One story was about a guy going to work, forgetting his boots then coming back to work. The catch was his universe had every possible Eldritch thing imaginable trying to kill humanity and people were just use to it.

"Vampire Cats prowling the subway? Rush hour sucks"
"Cthulhu storming the gates? Call in Pest Control!"
The guys job was Pest Control which meant he was among hundreds sent to go fight Lovecraftian horrors daily and he treats it like a legitimate pest control job as though battling God's is getting rid of ants to him.

The pacing here is pristine, honestly. The way it starts with a seemingly normal interview with the architect(?) of the Statue of Liberty, then shit starts to get weird when he talks about how the Americans wanted the pedestal built taller and taller. Love the way that segment ends with him mentioning how the pedestal is now taller than the statue itself, which is a really off-putting shock to the system. Then things escalate with us seeing a diagram of the statue itself, giving us a visual reference for just how massive its base is, and the fact that it's being used as some kind of bizarre bunker for something unseen. Things like the waste disposal paint a really ugly picture, and finally we get the interviews with the immigrants. The implications of the smell and the slaughterhouse tell us right away that this place is being used for feeding people, probably immigrants, to something inside the pedestal, and we even hear about people being led into its base. Finally, we get that clip at the end of the statue moving aside to allow the "Liberty Lurker" to escape, and we get just a glimpse at it to give us an idea of how massive it is before cutting to that slide at the end, telling us that this is something people already know about to some extent, at least in the present day.
When I saw the waste disposal, I thought the Statue of Liberty was alive and that the compartment was for it to shit into somebow

The freakiest part of the video is not the thing that pokes out of the moment, but the monument has an unnatural color to it, like the Statue of Liberty has been blood-stained or heavily rusted over.
The statue was actually originally brown, years of rust and corrosion is why it looks green today.

Liked the foreigners talking in their native language being translated to english. Adds a language barrier that i would like to see experimented on in analog horror. Besides that, its an interesting concept and executed well.

Different to other analog horror videos, Alex here manages to perturb the viewer elegantly, letting the viewer know that something is wrong since the beggining of the video.
It does a much better job at grabbing attention. And the time is relatively good, although more buildup could have helped, as long as it was good buildup.
It makes people want to watch and find out what the scary monster is, but doesn't bore them.
Alex can basically make a horror story out of the Willis tower without even needing to look hard. He's that good

I like to think the pedestal was so tall to prevent lady liberty from moving either because the French were paranoid it was a very convoluted Trojan horse or the designer was scared it would come to life so they made it so lady liberty would break her legs if she *did* come to life
No you see, the french realized that lady liberty would see it insulting as being on a small pedestal (like how third place pedestals in competitions are small) so they gave an her a tall one as a ego boost.
I didn’t realize this was a horror video until they started talking about how the island smelled like a slaughterhouse. Nice work man!

My guess is that the Liberty Lurker is the Head of the "Horned Serpent" that the Maize facilities were monitoring, since on first glance I thought that the lurker looked to have horns, and the logo of the serpent in MaizeMovieMaker showed the head to be in the New York area

I was thinking about this creature and it is very peculiar, apparently it existed at the time that the statue was built and for that reason they asked several times to increase the pedestal, in 1949 it received peculiar innovations such as the wheels that make the statue move it gives understand that at some point they would release this creature for the "departure" and apparently between 1949 and 1954 several people who immigrated tended to disappear when they entered the pedestal what can be said they became food for this creature and the remains were thrown in the waste deposit, after this in 1985 the creature finally leaves, but what is the real goal for them to do all this? would they use him as a weapon or was it just for him to leave?
best guess is what ever it was ended up being to dangrous to fight so they miltary made a deal to build it a nest to contain it in exchange for feeding it thousands of people with the promise it would leave there country entirly after i finishined what ever it needed food and a nest for

immigrants who do not qualify to obtain US citizenship as food for the monster. Before the presidency of Lyndon B. Johnson, the United States had very severe immigration laws where they gave you medical check-ups and if you did not qualify they would return you to your home.

I can confirm the lady speaking italian has to be from Italy. A very small detail only an italian can cathc is that she has clearly a south accent, but she says she's from Milan, very up north

Being Italian honesty really elevated this, being able to just understand every single word she said in my language made her narration very effective
the concept is brilliant. anything else I say is probably better said, but, this is… no longer just horror. it’s genuine art.
Very nicely done, first time seeing the channel so i had no idea what this could be about. Almost thought it was real if it weren't for the last scene, for such a tall and heavy statue it was moving very quickly on those wheels. Other than that I have no complaints. Really love what you did with the grainy audio and foreigners testimonies/interviews.

i love the rhythm and pacing that this video has, and i especially love the interviews with people to provide some context. the pedestal is confusing at first, and it can be up to interpretation on why its so large, but once the other details start rolling in like the mechanics in the pedestal, the slaughterhouse smell, and even more smaller details, we suddenly get the “oh sh*t” viewpoint

I watch creepy pastas for fun and this actually freaked me out
The description by the lady of dead birds reminds me of a time visiting Flatholme Island. This place is uninhabited (apart from the lighthouse keeper) and has been returned to the birds. Birds do not bury their dead. They lie where they drop without knowable ceremony. There is a strong smell of death serenading the sound of raucous life. Bird guano paints the brown landscape white.

After watching analog horror videos in English for the entire evening, somehow the creepiest part of this one was hearing the woman speak in Italian (actual Italian without any accent whatsoever). I thought I was hallucinating.

Police report: After the creature left the Statue of Liberty, it headed towards the city, killing and consuming many people, destroying buildings, and causing chaos. After its rampage, it retreated into the water and headed out to sea. A police investigation into the Statue of Liberty was started, resulting in the discovery of a huge chamber within the pedestal as well as lots of bloody walls and floors, and a drain in the chamber. Going below the chamber, an engine was found which was found to have been very recently operated, and an axle leading up to the statue. A waste disposal room was found further in, connecting to the drain in the chamber. Upon opening the room, a massive amount of human remains and blood was found, especially rotting flesh and bone. DNA scans on the remains traced back to many people who immigrated to Ellis Island in the 1940s and 1950s. Compensation is to be given to relatives of these people.
I came over from Wendigoon because these alternate-history sci-fi stories seem to be really well told and I want to actually check the series out before getting a second opinion on analysis. Very interesting concept, Alex. This kind of art is much appreciated. Well done. Subbed for all future content!!
