Sheer brilliance. Ian Carmichael, a true gentleman and marvellous actor, along with the utter perfection of the finest double act ever. (In my opinion).
Ian Carmichael - what a wonderful actor he was - and an utterly superb narrator of Lord Peter Winsey and PG Wodehouse. (And what a lovely man, too) As for Morecambe and Wise, they were the epitome of british comedy at its gentlest and most splendid.
What a perfect gentleman - such a patient, well mannered lovely man - wish I could have known him in real life. Excellent - wonderful as wimsy and also the classic I'm alright Jack - he seems to be as aristocratic in real life as he the roles he constantly played in films and tv.
@@francis400 Indeed. Alistair Sim in Scrooge by Brian Desmond Hurst is one of the best British films, best Dickens adaptations and the 'best' Xmas film:in my humble opinion.
I loved! Ian Carmichael in the intricate life of gerald c potter.....such the most amazing delicate and sublime comedy.... As for the other two in this.....anyone know who they are? They're quite good...could have a future.
Tommy Cooper was in a locked contract with Thames Television, and so when they were at the BBC he could not appear. When they moved to Thames, Tommy was not interested in appearing with them, as he felt he would not suit their show.
Which I hate. He is simply copying the mannerisms of Eric. There is a difference between taking aspects of someone and styling it in your own way and just a pure copy act which Ant has done. Also, I don't think Eric would be amused with Ant.
Even though this was very funny, I can understand why Eric and Ernie never really had huge success in America, as Eric's style of talking was way too fast. I found him at times hard to understand. He would need to slow down a tiny bit. They appeared on Ed Sullivan many times, but never ever adapted for the American audience, which was a mistake.
Ian Carmichael was a lovely man and a great actor. Loved him in so many classic British movies.

A true hero too in Normandy in tanks.Always came across as dignified and sophisticated.Handsome dude too.

that'll be wimsey tho.....
Don’t forget Wind In The Willows with Michael Hordern and David Jason, as it was a phenomenal children’s cartoon! 😊
Three Titans of British culture. R.I.P. Eric, Ernie and Ian, and thank you for all the wonderful entertainment and many, many laughs 🙏🏻

RIP Ian Carmichael.
Great comic actor.
Eric Morecambe was such a genius and he struck with such lightning precision.
Eric, Ernie, Ian Carmichael - aka Henry Palfrey and Stanley Windrush. Genius.
Not forgetting Ian as Bertie Wooster and as Lord Peter Wimsey.. Cracking actor and heartily missed as are Eric & Ernie ..
Best wishes from Wales.

Fantastic actor and nobody was a better Bertie Wooster.
Not to mention Mr Windrush.
I agree. And the best Lord Peter Wimsey, too. 😀
Eric Ern and Hoagy have amazing chemistry 😂❤ I love how Ian laughs at the situation ❤️ ❤❤
Eric and Ernie made it look so easy. That was part of their genius.
I would love to have been in the audience for one of their shows.

:-)
I always wish Tommy Cooper Frankie Howerd Ronnie Barker and David Jason had been their guests 😊😊😊

Hilarious comedy at its best!
“ The play what I wrote “ 😂

Ian Carmichael - "My LP's out, you know."
Big Eric - "You can get 2 years for that...."

BRiLLIANT. A Play that I wrote
You can get two years for that!
2.20 -2.21. Fastest eyebrow raise ever!
Fab!
Yeah, he was brilliant. Very sad.
It's great but unfortunately the video keeps getting stuck ... any tips on how to avoid this??
Classic comedy
Ant of Ant and Dec has definitely modelled himself on Eric Morecambe.
Which I hate. He is simply copying the mannerisms of Eric. There is a difference between taking aspects of someone and styling it in your own way and just a pure copy act which Ant has done. Also, I don't think Eric would be amused with Ant.
@@johnking5174 I dont know how you can mention that pair of unfunny amateur bums in same sentence as Eric n Ernie.
@@johnking5174 Anton Deck ? I have NEVER, understood the apparent appeal, of those two frauds, utterly pathetic, and talent-less nobody's.
Well he forgot to model himself on the funny bits of Eric then.
