I had a doubt.... In the aliphatic type, why wouldn't the pi bond at the end of the chain break to form a sigma bond with carbonyl carbon and form cyclohexanol by transferring the electron density to the oxygen, followed by its protonation?

Thanks a lot. Quick question, in the aromatic case, if the ortho positions were occupied by other groups, would the alkyl chain (the exact one u have) shift to meta and/or para position?
Cause i recently came across an exam practise question with the same compound u used except there is ch3- and ch3o- substituants in ortho position. Chain shifted to para and im trying to figure out if it can actually happen or if the question is wrong. Thanks!
