I was recommended this video by the RUclips algorithm out of the blue. I've never played the bassoon, nor have I ever really thought about what goes into making woodwind reeds, or the level of skill and expertise required in your craft. I found your video absorbing, captivating, and illuminating, and am glad to have learnt a little more about this world.

I had this problem with one of your reeds, it made my bassoon play 20 cents sharp, now this problem is gone and now I can play on it with confidence, thank you Natalie!

Thank you for that explanation. I make my own reeds from GSP cane (Rigotti Fox 2 from Barton Cane) and they generally tend to slip, but as you say, I never really noticed it to be a problem with the tone or playability. Its reassuring to find out it is really no big deal.

Thank you Natalie! I have been wondering about this & questioning if my embouchure was off-center or somehow the cause of this. Who knew? I am learning so much from your videos, keep 'em coming!

Thank you for making these videos. Do you have a strong opinion on which way the wires should be wrapped and twisted?

Dear Natalie, thanks for your helpful and informative video. Just a note on scripting- I don't know what your process is and I know that it takes a lot to make and upload this type of content; but you tend to start repeating yourself and this is a bit distracting especially when I see a video of 10 mins with information that could have fitted in 5 mins. Just a thought... Thanks again for your work!
