@@Stannum112 Thats my point, neither are the others i mentioned, including most Yemenis (even the the ancient Arabs did not speak Arabic/ ancient Sabean and Cushitic peoples). Arab was at the time of the prophet (pbuh) a confederation of peoples who spoke the same language and were culturally linked, nothing to do with lineage to Ismael (as). So by that definition, most of what is said is discounted, but modern day Arabs now see the term as an ethnic denotation.
there is a slight mistake in translation at around 6:37. Jazayrak could mean your islands, yes. however in the context of the anthem if refers to Algeria which is Al Jazaeer in arabic and it means your Algeria and of course it refers to the Algerian war of independence EDIT: the plural of island in Arabic is Jozor in standard Arabic so unless you have a heavy farmer accent then Jazayrak would only mean "Your Algeria"

correction to the translation at 4:28, the word " 'edwan " is translated as attacks, it really means an aggression, and in this context is specifically referring to the suez crisis, which is known as the "tripartite aggression" ( 'edwan athulathiy ) in arabic. so the song is talking about what happened in beirut after the suez crisis, which is the 1958 lebanon crisis. for context this song was written in 1960.

Nasser's response to demands to enforce hijab-wearing: In the year 1953, we really wanted to compromise with the Muslim Brotherhood, if they were willing to do so in the correct and proper manner. And I met the head of the Muslim Brotherhood and he sat with me and made his requests. What did he request? The first thing he said to me was to make wearing a hijab mandatory in Egypt. And make every woman walking in the street wear a headscarf. Every woman walking! So I told him, if one were to make that a law, they will say that we have returned to the days of al-Ḥākim bi-Amr Allāh: who forbade people from walking at day and only allowed walking at night. And my opinion is that every person in his own house decides for himself the rules. And he replied: No, as the leader you are responsible. I told him: Sir, you have a daughter in The College of Medicine... She's not wearing a headscarf! Why didn't you make her wear a headscarf? You are unable to make one girl, - who is your daughter! - wear a headscarf, yet you want me to put a headscarf on 10 million women? Myself?

A thought to the Comores Islands, their flag should've been included. Also, It does not matter if you're Arab, Arabian, Arabic-speaker with a different ethnic background, this song is still unifying.
@@mQCwi majority of people their identify themselves as Arabs and they speak Arabic as an official language so they are Arabs
@@mQCwi If Somalis are Arabs, then they are Arabs, if Somalis are non Arabs, it doesnt change a thing because Somalis would then become the closest non Arabs to Arabs. Then you have to discount other Arabs like Syrians and Berbers and the Lebanese.
@@Somali.Pirate1 technically berbers arent arab, they were only arabized in culture
@@Ashraf-Hrira shirazi's are Arab genetically
there is a slight mistake in translation at around 6:37. Jazayrak could mean your islands, yes. however in the context of the anthem if refers to Algeria which is Al Jazaeer in arabic and it means your Algeria and of course it refers to the Algerian war of independence
EDIT: the plural of island in Arabic is Jozor in standard Arabic so unless you have a heavy farmer accent then Jazayrak would only mean "Your Algeria"

All ethnicities except the people of the Gulf countries aren't Arabs at all; they just got Arabized. Especially in North Africa, we are genetically and culturally completely different. Somalians are Africans and have nothing to do with Arabs.
Plus, learning a language means nothing. I can speak five languages, but I only consider myself Amazigh because that's my true identity.
There are tens of millions in north Africa which consider themselves as arabs and culturally north Africa is almost identical to MENA, the same lifestyle the same religion and standards of living even genetically and phenotypically similar those amazikh you talking about are just minorities that already get integrated to the arabic sphere centuries ago@@lifeisajourneynotacompetit5909

Nasser's response to demands to enforce hijab-wearing:
In the year 1953, we really wanted to compromise with the Muslim Brotherhood, if they were willing to do so in the correct and proper manner.
Myself?

Abdel Halim Hafez:
Eres grande, grande, grande!
Y mucho mas grande
Mas grande que toda la existencia
Mas grande que toda la eternidad
Oh mi patria..
Sabah:

@@Threezi04There's only 118,866 according to a 2010 estimate, quite a few of them are descended from traders who settled there prior to Islam, which is just fascinating.
