This game is about smiling and nodding through the in game tutorial, spinning the knobs ineffectively as you and your crew die in a flaming wreckage, and then going online and learning how to play the damn game.
This game is the modern equivalent of "Oregon Trail" and "incoming missiles" is....you've got dysentery. Tips 5,6 are the bread and butter Of the game. Encase your combat ships in armor and when fighting other ships, if you see they have ANY armor, load up armor piercing and incendiary. Flying under with AP rounds will quickly take out even the biggest ships in the game. MY helpful tip is only stay in an area until the yellow dangerous sign pops up. Now is the time to cut your losses and move.
Free tips by me: 1. Prioritize high fire rate guns (37mm). reload faster, hit better, deadly against corvette class & will help you survive against missiles/heavy shells 2. Prioritize proximity fuse ammo. same reason as high fire rate guns but better with bigger damage 3. Sabot round is perfect against heavy armor/cruiser class, but beware its short range (shell just disappeared if range is too far). i'm surprise to kill cruiser Nomad with 2-3 shot from 180mm Sabot 4. Incendiary round is better than nothing, use it if you can 5. guided missile is accurate but pretty tricky. not really working for me, especially when in the heat of battle & hard to focus 6. design your own ship, tailor it to your own needs. I made ship, shaped like rectangle & d*ck (spongebob thunderpants & meatspinner), for very efficient space & armor, but they hard to land 7. if you kill enemy, don't shot the rescue pod (triangle thing that flying out). it can affect how many men that you can get if you rescue them when battle is over
thanks for this - this game looks intimidating as hell, but also looks so cool that i gotta try it, and your tips video wasn't a scary behemoth of a college course of a video like a lot of them out there are. short and sweet and to the point.
thanks for the tips! just started. Im intimidated at how deep the game is but I'm determined to get far and enjoy the heck out of it for years to come because its MICROPROSE. that logo is so good to come home to again after all these decades
I have a tip I wish I knew when I started playing, go to the ship builder load in a vanilla ship and use test to practice combat. I’ve had campaigns fall apart not because of my tactics but because of my combat abilities.
Keep em coming dude. Been looking for good, helpful content for this game. Effin’ steep learning curve on this one. Not a lot of helpful content out there.
Hy, thanks for the great tips. I also have one for you ^^ If you go exploring with a small ship equipped with Rada and you use the ground radar you can find structures and interesting places between the cities ^^

That's honestly the best analogy for this game I've ever heard.
