  • This incendiary blues album was released posthumously on Alligator Records in 1976 and features the legendary sounds of Hound Dog Taylor, Brewer Phillips and Ted Harvey recorded live at the Smiling Dog Saloon in Cleveland. In this review, I look at each track and how the album ignited my love affair with the blues.
As always, please feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments, and thanks for watching!

The Blues Brothers , ironically, never actually recorded any authentic blues. It was R & B tinged pop music.

Good point. Though I think Shotgun Blues from 'Briefcase' comes pretty close. Thanks for joining in! 🙏

Thanks for posting this! A fantastic album that I've been listening to since it came out (thanks to a very hip friend in college). My favorite tracks are It's Alright and Give Me Back My Wig.
