Art= started with episode 47 but some of the episode made it bad animation or art.
Story: Goku black best story in entire Dragonball imo. Frieza will be first cause yes he did bad played with the Saiyan race. But Goku black a supreme kai became a psychopath because of the point of view on mortals.
Music: start with goku black arc (yes bog has those ost's but man when future mai let future trunks leave and future trunks screaming to her ' no mai I can't leave you here again'.
Fight: start with Goku vs zamasu and goku black first fight. (Man Goku was back flipping zamasu's move and fights in the city which was rare to see)
Villain: lol only zamasu was villain in dragon ball super. Frieza just a remake of DBZ ROF which most of the fans ignored it as well as bog arc. U7vsU6 Tournament and tournament of power isn't about villain. So only Villain or best villain was Zamasu.
Surprises: started with Goku black spoilers and final surprises was Goku raged in Mui on jiren but most great surprise was 109-110 together in one day.
      Great moment: Vegito my boy.

My biggest complaint about the future trunks ending is trunks going to a new universe. To me at that point it makes more sense to me to have him stay in the past then to go to another universe. It would have been an interesting storyline to have him trying to figure out a new life, dealing with the consequences of his failure, and then have him available for future arcs. Like I think it would have been interesting for him in superhero trying to deal with new androids.

Toriyama and Toyotaro really fucked yo by not having Future Trunk stay in the current timeline. 1. A villainous duo terrorizing the Future: Cell saga Androids 17 & 18; Goku Black arc Goku Black & Future Zamasu.

Cell thought he was perfect after absorbing 17 & 18 & reached Super Saiyan 2 levels of power after Goku teleported him away from earth while Zamasu thought he was perfect & divine when he was fused with the invincible & immortal Future Zamasu & Super Saiyan Rose Goku Black

  • @buildaggedonarmanaziie4462
    @buildaggedonarmanaziie4462 Год назад +23

I like both arcs, but I ABSOLUTELY *LOVE* the Goku Black/Zamasu Arc more, because -
    1. There was a good reason as to why Goku Black was as strong as he was, because he was using Goku's body and power and it wasn't like Jiren how he is just here and he is just that strong, because he did have an origin, but that origin was dry as hell.
    2. Zamasu/Goku Black actually had a great buildup how he became the way that he became and how his mindset developed.
    3. Goku could NOT defeat Goku Black, because every time that Goku fought Goku Black even when enraged all Goku Black is going to do is learn and feed off of Goku and get stronger, which is why Bulma was wrong when she was telling kid Trunks to leave everything to Goku, because Goku cannot beat Goku Black, and this leads to another character being able to get the win and be the main hero of the arc.
    4. There was a lot of interesting powers in the Goku Black/Zamasu Arc, now Goku Black just used Goku's powers, but it was really, really interesting to see Goku's own powers and moves being used against him, but mainly powers like the Fused Zamasu thing with Blades of Judgement, and Divine Lightning, and the smoke clones, and the Ki blade and ki scythe, and the smoke bird thing, those were just cool to see.
    5. I ABSOLUTELY *LOVED* the ending of the Goku Black Arc, because Zamasu actually won, and I don't care what anyone says about, "Oh they redid that with sending Future Trunks and Future Mai back to an earlier time in their timeline, with getting rid of Zamasu before anything happens," I don't care about that, I mean I hated that, but I was ok with Zamasu killing everyone, because at the end Zamasu got rid of all of the mortals on the planet apart from the main cast, so Zamasu basically got what he wanted, and that was good because it was new and unexpected where the villain actually won apart from the old "The hero always wins" BS, because for the Tournament of Power we all already knew that Universe 7 was already going to win so it kind of takes away from the stakes and surprises, but with Zamasu he succeeded. Now yes, Zamasu did lose overall, but he did get what he wanted, because it was like, "He won the battle, but he lost the war." Kind of a thing. I liked that.
    6. The Goku Black/Zamasu Arc had actual stakes, because everyone who died could not be brought back since the Dragon Balls in Trunk's timeline were gone, so those were some actual real deaths in Dragon Ball and that gave the Zamasu/Goku Black Arc actual stakes and actual consequences. If you can't take anything else away from the Zamasu/Goku Black Arc take this away from it.
These are the reasons why I love the Goku Black/Zamasu are over the Tournament of Power are to an extent.

    • @leultrainstinct406
      @leultrainstinct406 Год назад +2

agree but the tournament of power definitely has stakes because even tho universe 7 would survive, we had no idea how and what would happen to all the other universes involved. it had the entire internet on a chokehold for months because of all the tension.

It's a shame Dragon Ball Super only really amounted to a prologue multiverse tournament, Goku Black (which totally bastardized Trunks), and then the actual multiverse tournament arc. 2 mini arcs, and then one actual arc. And even including the manga, not one arc has carried the weight or longevity of any of Z's arcs, which pretty much marked entire eras unto themselves (4 clean cut dividers between saiyans, Namek, androids, Buu as the entire story). I guess in this sense it is going back to more original Dragon Ball (non-Z) sorts of arcs?

Jiren is a boring idea but executed well enough which helped him. That is props to the animation team that made him look cool despite the script they were given. I mean the base Toriyama script for him, not the storyboard. The lack of further development him in the next arcs hurt the whole thing more because it left it just the way it were. Jiren needed a tv special like future trunks and Bardock got.

Can't agree more on basically everything said in here... And to add on to like the whole crap show of Trunks going away to another timeline again?
It threw away some of the best moments of the arc in the anime... Like Future Trunks' conversation with Kid Trunks and, his distrust of meeting 18.
Imagine him on the TOP team when Goku recruits Freeza and 17? How paranoid he could get especially if Trunks made it towards the end. Could have been such great character development. Like 18 was arguably the less evil of the twin androids, and everyone was stronger than her, so it'd be understandable for trunks to accept her a bit more... But then when they find 17 and he's nearly as strong as Goku? And Freeza is as strong as Goku... And it's just the 4 of them vs Jiren. Just imagine his paranoia.
And him seeing Gohan get back into fighting shape and such.
And like Trunks' response when the ToP is made a thing, and he'd also probably get a bit of blame for it too given he was a time traveler that brought the 2nd Zeno around

I kinda liked the fact that jiren wasn't really helping in the ToP. It shows what a bad teammate he actually is, despite being a member of the pride troopers. The whole point of the pride troopers is fighting evil as a team, but jiren just doesn't get the importance of trust and teamwork. He only steps in when he decides something is worth his time, and he only fights alone. His lack of trust was his biggest weakness, and it ultimately led to his defeat.

While the TOP Arc had some of the best fights, I also thought the concept of Goku using UI was good but its poor pacing make it a drag to get through and Jiren didn't make for an engaging antagonist overall. Anime: ToP
    Manga: Everything but the ToP
The Anime's ToP would've been second had the Goku Black Arc stuck the landing (either a complete dark messed up ending that lasts and has consequences that go on to future arcs, or a hopeful good ending that also has consequences that go on to future arcs)
The ToP had some lame moments here and there, but was a lot more consistent in quality compared to the wild quality shift from the bulk of the Goku Black arc
The Manga: It's tournament of power is actually embarassing and Toyo should actually be ashamed of rushing through that. I don't know what was in the water in that era for media, but everyone and their dog was rushing through important stories to get to something else back then.

The Goku Black/Zamasu arc had the fanservice of Future Trunks returning, an "Evil Goku", Super Saiyan Rose, a first ever evil Kai, Goku & Vegeta going to Future Trunks' timeline for the first time in their lives, a first time ever fusion villain & Vegito returning. But it was all to demonstrate the omnipotent power of Zeno who had to be summoned to erase the timeline to get rid of Zamasu. But it was only a loss for Future Trunks. Goku & Vegeta still had their timeline full of luxury of Dragon Balls & the full Dragon Team still alive. Future Trunks had to go to a new timeline to live in but Goku's & Vegeta's old lives continued on as usual. The Goku Black/Zamasu arc showed how luxurious the present timeline was compared to the future timeline in the very beginning. In the present when Goku & Vegeta finished their training with Whis & Beerus, they were eating bowls of ramen noodles with corn, meat & butter & they were chilling & talking about how omnipotent Zeno is. But in the Future timeline, Future Trunks & Future Mai were weakened, tired out, hiding & eating dog food & cat food. That is how bad the future was.

In the Anime, my vote goes to T.O.P. easily. I feel the art and animation is an edge up, even it got rocky from time to time. The while the pacing was very long, I feel that story was still better than the Goku Black arc as the T.O.P. had the Universe 7 team win using team work and cooperation rather then the protagonist scapegoat their way out of the erasure using the Future Omni King in the end. While I feel the execution of Jiren's backstory could have been better and feel less forced at the last minute, I think Jiren's motivation for his pursuit of strength is better than Zamasu's motivation to commit multiversal genocide because of his skewed and shortsighted views on mortals(in my opinion), with one of the last straws being that he lost a sparring match against Goku. I also think that the T.O.P. had better moments too.

I think which one is better is easy. It has to be the tournament of power. Here's the thing, though. The tournament of power was an almost perfect execution of the story they wanted to tell. It had a lot of potential and lived up to almost all of it. I can only complain about small things like Roshi getting so powerful for fan service.
Goku black is a different story. I think that arc had to potential to be the best in all of dragonball, in my opinion. The problem is it lived up to a much lesser percentage of it's overall potential. It's been too long since I've seen this to accurately criticize it. I just know I felt like there was way too much back and forth in time travel and just a lot of stuff they could've taken out and replaced with other stuff.
I think it will be a long time before they come out with an arc that had more potential than the goku black arc. They may never do it. It will always be the "what could've been" arc to me.

Future Trunks could have been a great ark to put Goku and Vegeta to the side. You could have Trunks train with Gohan learning the importance that sometimes you need to fight to protect what you love. Showing his universe and what Trunks cares about. Ending with Gohan beating Black in Rose form proving he has more potential than his father and that its not just a strong body, but a strong mortal mind, especially with Gohan being a very peaceful person by nature it could be a bit jarring for Zamasu to see that side in mortals. You want fusion!? Well since DBS all about fan service anyway, lets get a Gohan and Trunks fusion against fused Zamasu just to get people to go insane. At least it would be different than what we already had.

But in the manga, Gohan essentially takes out Caulifla AND Kale. They've always talked about how smart and strong Gohan is, and this showed this off way better. And even though Danny said it came out of nowhere, Gohan took on Blue Goku and did a lot better than most of the other fighters did against Blue Goku in the TOP.
