The (vegetarian Köfte) which is called „ cig köfte“ - which by the way means raw meatball , is done with or without meat , depending on the area and is kneaded into a paste with the grain called „bulgur“ and lots and lots of other herbs. The proper one will take a kneading time of 4-6 hours, by hand!!! :)

Having said this, the original version of "çiğ köfte" (the name of this dish that literally means raw meatballs) does have raw minced meat. However, this is prepared with meat only in very upmarket restaurants. Lastly, you did end up in the best baklava shop in Istanbul

It is kneaded for a long time with spices till everything mixes and meat cooked with acid(lemon,salt and spices)Name of the dish is ''Çiğ Köfte''. The shops selling these do not use meat because it is unhealty to keep it somewhere other than a fridge. To be a vegan is so hard in Turkey :) but if you want you may find variety of vegetable dishes and pastery etc etc.

14:00 The name of that dish is "Çiğ köfte" literally translates to "raw meatballs", originally it contains raw minced meat however Turkish health regulations forbid them to sell meals with raw red meat inside so it became just a bulgur (a kind of legume) paste.
Just went to an amazing restaurant in buyukcemece. The people were awesome owner was awesome and I was eating an amazing meal right on the water. You have to get out of taksim and sultan Ahmet area.

He taught english to me and my classmates although we didn’t have any english knowledge at the begining. His name was Alexander(Sandy) Swarbrick. People generally smiled when I said it to them. You should go to Gaziantepe in Turkey. Turkish baklava is eaten in Gaziantep. There is more food there and it is cheaper. And you should go to Mardin, there are many beautiful old buildings.

I live in Turkey but I can't eat my traditional food because of our economy so if you will come to Turkey please buy 2 meal at the same time 1. meal for you and 2.meal for poor turkish people.I know the exchange rate between dolar and Turkish lira and I know my country very cheap for come from other countries people.This is not a price for you

Just went to an amazing restaurant in buyukcemece. The people were awesome owner was awesome and I was eating an amazing meal right on the water. You have to get out of taksim and sultan Ahmet area.

He taught english to me and my classmates although we didn’t have any english knowledge at the begining. His name was Alexander(Sandy) Swarbrick. People generally smiled when I said it to them. You should try "Islak Hamburger" its a turlish streetfood and basically means wet Hamburger. It is steamed and really different
You should go to Gaziantepe in Turkey. Turkish baklava is eaten in Gaziantep. There is more food there and it is cheaper. And you should go to Mardin, there are many beautiful old buildings.

Our best meals are around Hatay, Gaziantep, Şanlurfa and Adana. I think you should visit there too. They have more delicious and rich cuisines than those in Istanbul💮🏵️💚

As a turkish person it’s sad to see how easy for tourists to enjoy our country when it’s compared to us You can buy high fashion or luxury things with 50 euro in your country but we give 50 tl just for a fast food I’ll never forgive the people who made us live like that in our own country
