Best test opening pair I have seen post 1995. Langer was so underrated. Imagine having Mark Waugh mark Taylor for one decade followed by Langer Hayden for next. And now they have what, bonified scrubs.
Those were the days.. getting through the Aussie batting line up was one heck of a job.. without an iota of doubt that was a fantastic opening partnership..
JL is real legend, when his team go down, he is the one has the guts to handle as a Coach and make them believe that Aussie are the best in Cricketing Era. He shown such love and patriotism towards his nation.
JL is an amazing storyteller, great work mate. I haven’t seen an Australian 200 partnership in a long time, let alone an opening one. Highlights the talent back then.
So many people in high level sports like international level cricket don't have the ability to talk about their sport like that with their mates. Having a laugh, having a good time. He's so good for the culture of the cricket team. Deadly serious when he needs to be but always focused on relationships. Gonna be a good tenure while Langer is there, Ponting also helps a lot. Really looking forward to the future of Australian cricket.
As an Indian kid I used to hate both of them during my childhood when they smack our bowling attack ..But now I can say ,they are true legends of this game of cricket ! 1999 to 2007 was a golden era for Australian cricket 😇

Jusitn Langer was very courageous in accepting the umpire was wrong in not giving him LBW. It does prove the point that Umpire's decisions helped Aussies in many of the victories.
His career would have looked alot different if he was rightly judged LBW and caught out in the following test.. Slater would have come back in with Hayden.. to be fair Langer and Hayden were a formidable combo uptop loved watching them bat as a kid.. two left handers uptop is the way to go in tests..

Slater and Hayden were the weakest part of the 2001 Australian Ashes side - no Australian (recognised) batsmen scored fewer runs (other than Simon Katich and Langer who each played one game), so it was definitely the right decision, without hindsight, to drop Slater for good. And with hindsight, it was an even better decision.

Not 1day, not T20, not S Africa, Pakistan, N Zealand or India, beating England is all that matters. Like I said. If you lived in Australia, you would know this.
Look like Langer is most luckiest opening batsman particularly in Australia ,catches dropped, shameful umpring by Australian umpires always, they did with all visiting teams i also remember that Wasim Akram incident, Imran khan did the right thing to introduce neutral umpires .
The worst behaved team n the team who cheated the most. I never respected this team apart from couple of players. I have far greater respect for west indies team of 1970's n 1980's. Not these bastards who cheated a lot. Shame on them
