I do both! Why choose when you can have the best of both worlds. My DDM4 has Exps 2-0 green w/ G45. My secondary build has the Vudu 1-8 (Love them both). Glass is crystal clear, Eotech is my only choice for optics 🤘🏻 Thank You!!!!!
Unless you can build a great firing position, an lpvo is a major disadvantage to me. I’ve tried to love them as I’m into long range shooting so wanted a longer range optic for my 18” rifle. Sold them and use a G45 and exps3-4.
I just never get arguments about this. If you anticipate that your fights are mostly close-mid range, go with red dots + magnifier. Otherwise choose LPVO or MPVO with red dots as backup. The idea is to not search for a perfect solution for every scenario possible.
your zero never changes on a second focal plane scope or a first focal plane scope regardless of the magnification setting. the center of the reticle (your zero) will always work, the center does not move or change. the thing that changes is the reticle's features... so your hold overs, windage markers, moving target markers, or range indicators, if there are any, are designed to work on the maximum magnification with a SFP.. however, if you zero at 100 yards, you will be able to make hits from 0-300 yards by holding center of mass.. basically, if they are far enough away to need to use your reticle's features, you will be at max mag anyway. SFP offers far better illumination and better 1x performance.
I personally don’t like LPVOs because of the eye relief being so short. I love the EXPS 3-0 combined with the G45 5x magnifier, makes the additional 1x zoom you get out of the LPVO isn’t worth it.
I currently use a Sig Romeo5 red-dot with a Holosun 3x magnifier, and it works for what I do. But the combo you have is what I've been considering getting. Just can't justify putting 2 grand into it at the moment. I think a LVPO would be suited for an AR-10 or something with more reach where you're taking resting shots. At the same time for a gun like that maybe just go for a 10x scope.
@@drownthepoor it’s a pricey setup for sure but worth it in my opinion. Save up for one at a time over a long period of time and boom you have it before you know it.

You can tell just by looking at this video and the time stamp I have. It's really sad that a company decides to produce garbage from China to save a dollar but make a VERY sub par product. I bought their 5x magnifier, and when I recieved it I would've bet my life it was a chinese knock off, but it was a legit eotech. It's complete trash comapred to their older 3x that is made in the US. Even the damn logo paint is peeling off. can't hold zero(center), crap glass, terrible eyebox.
@@brighthought11 I've only had one magnifier, it's a Holosun 3x. Had good reviews, and it feels pretty sturdy. But I have nothing to compare it to. I was looking at getting an EOTech and the G45 for that 5x, but now that I know it's Chinese and at that price? Glad I know now, and not after.
What extending stock are you using on the smaller rifle? I like how it leaves face rest and extendes but second question I am buying the G45 do you recommend I take that route or just stick with the famous 3x I do want magnifier availability to reach further since you make them I want the highest quality one
@@korcla5668 The G45 and new products are chinese made and "assembled" in the US. So they put one screw in once it gets to the US. This includes the new pistol red dot.
Your 5x magnifier feels like chinese junk compared to the 3x. Please don't cheap out on your products anymore. I have 4 EXPS's, 3 magnifiers and 2 vudu's. They are my go to's. But the 5x magnifier is pretty bad, TINY eyebox, not the best glass, zero shifts after flipping side to side. Even the logo's paint is slightly crumbling off, and it's not a chinese copy, I verified with eotech support.
@@lucaswoods1155 the VUDU's are, the new magnifiers like the micros and 5x are definitely chinese made, but "assembled" in the US. The quality of the VUDU's is as good as it gets. I love them. Even the paint on the 5x and micros feels like chinesium junk.
@@El_Marzocco after switching the magnifier to the side and back, once or twice, the center on the magnifier will be off, I sent it back to eotech thinking my mount was defective, but the new one they sent does the same thing. no joke lol! never gonna happen, these companies are in the biz of greed, the employees are not seeing the benefits, why do you think LMT QC has gone to crap.
There is no superiority. Everything has pros and cons. Automatically I can tell you EXPS beats out a piggyback ACOG in night vision shooting, red dot FOV, point of aim/impact zero, and overall 0-100 yard capability. The Eotech hybrid system is CQB first, up to 300 yard/PID with the magnifier second. The ACOG/RMR is mid range first (200-600), CQB second. If you're in a city, the acog setup sucks. Prioritize CQB. If you're in rural hills ACOG/rmr. Because mission comes first. Dont say apples are better than oranges
.223/5.56 isn’t made for hunting big game. It’s barely enough to kill a white tail deer & realistically only out around 100 yards with a great shot placement. You need to step up in caliber for longer shots than 100 yards for deer & anything bigger. .308 Winchester is great for almost every big game animal in North America.
I sold all my LPVO's a few years ago and stuck with the hybrid system. Just makes more sense to me.
So when SHTF were, are you going to get your batteries?

300m+ encounters = LVPO.
