Much enjoyed this video by, and about, Otto Penzler. I'd like to add the name of Chris Steinbrunner to it; he coauthored the McGraw-Hill encyclopedia Otto won an Edgar Award for - as did Chris! Once, while visiting Chris (a close friend) in his office at WOR-TV, I took down his award from a shelf - and proceeded to drop it! Chris was on the phone at the time, and seeing this, his eyes fairly popped from his head! Fortunately, the office rug was of a thick plush, and the Edgar Allan Poe figurine was not harmed. But I learned then and there to never handle the priceless articles belonging to others. He was a Renaissance Man where detective fiction, in its various incarnations, was concerned, with sundry credits in that genre. That he so enjoyed my humble writing efforts remains most gratifying to me. Chris died under very disturbing circumstances, and I still miss him more than somewhat. Chris loved my short stories and would hand-deliver them to Eleanor Sullivan, of EQMM, where he had a monthly column (and another, under a pseudonym, in the Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine). She once complimented these works while considering them "a little too terrifying for our readers" - somewhat odd, the Ellery Queen magazine being the world's foremost such publication! This, however, was many moons ago, and my manuscripts have been gathering the proverbial dust ever since. I proposed having Otto put out a collection of the twenty-seven tales, for nothing could be "too terrifying" these days (literary agents preferring novels instead, where the "big money" is believed to be). But I never received a response - the same fate of the comments I submit, and are presented on the respective RUclips sites, pertaining to the ongoing series, "Otto Presents..." I have almost all your "Big Book of" collections and so many of your other short story collections. Now I have questions. When will the Bibliomysteries Volume 3 be available? Will you have a second RUclips post talking about all your "Big Book Collections?" And I want to thank you for all the stories I have had the pleasure to read through the publications you have had a hand in.
I have Vampire Archives, Zombis Zombis Zombis and Ghost Stories. The last two have wonderful pictures like manga and EC Comics hibridation. Sadly the paper quiality is not good for fat anthologies.
