    Really fun seeing the collection you've got there.
    Minor quibbles, but riots in the street and black armbands...good story, but not much evidence of any of that (massive drop in Strand subscribers is well-known, and I'd have been mad too!). Hound began its serial run in Aug 1901; however, the complete novel was released ~two months before the conclusion of the serial run in the Strand in 1902. That's a great marketing gimmick (you get to read the ending more than a month before all the other chumps, and it'll only cost you 6s or $1.25).
