  • Couldn´t resist buyimg a C64-1 but wanted it to be a little more capable in terrain. I made a flip front for front mounted battery, much better weight distribution. A 370 motor from WPL 2-speed gearbox was added, fits perfect, just had to press the pinion about 2 millimeters more in on the axle. Soft kit tyres on wider rims and the stock radio/esc. Torque and low speed control is amazingly good for being an almost stock truck!

    Bravo, well done. Excellent bit of engineering, currently working on my 4ws C14 but my c 64-1 will be the next one to go under the knife....
    Love flip fronts on anything and my 64 will be no exception....thanks for posting.

      Thank you Carl, really glad you like it! I wanted to do something I had not seen anybody else do to this car, plus it seemed to be the best way to put the battery in the front! The stock battery location on the bed makes it flip over backwards all the time! 😊😊

    That is awesome what wheels are those?

    • @Georgieframe
      @Georgieframe  9 дней назад

      Thanks, glad you like it! The wheels are widened by glueing aftermarket metal rims to WPL V1 rims. You can see at 2,05 in the video how it´s done. The tyres I use are soft WPL V1, the kit type tyres, with added foams to keep the profile better. How are you liking the 370 motor in it? Thinking about starting there with mine?

    • @Georgieframe
      @Georgieframe  13 дней назад +1

      Hello! I can recommend it! I use a wpl standard 370 motor from a 2-speed gearbox (in which I´ve put a brushless motor) and I am pleasantly surprised with how it performs. I just had to press the pinion about 2 millimeter further in on the shaft, then it fits perfect in the gearbox. With the stock radio/esc it has fantastic low speed control and the power is more than enough for climbing the steepest obstacles. It´s not fast but for crawling and driving in tough terrain it´s perfect! 👍👍😊😊

      @@Georgieframeto put a 2 speed transmission in this, the remote and esc would have to be upgraded correct? Sorry for all the questions, this is my first build and I’m trying to figure out what all I need to order.

    • @Georgieframe
      @Georgieframe  8 дней назад +1

      @@Im4evergrateful70 Yes, to put a 2-speed transmission in you must upgrade to at least 3-channel radio. There are some different options. Personly I like Dumbo RC 6-channel radio, which can also control winch and other extras. Then you also need a separat esc, preferably one that can handle 3s battery, if you want more speed. Also WPL RES-V3 radio works very good. It comes with a sound module, can shift gears and control a winch, also turn lights and sound on and off. It has combined receiver/esc unit and it can take 3s battery if you want. A downside is that with 2s battery it´s a little less powerful than a separate 40 or 60 amp esc. Good luck with your upgrades! 😊😊

      @@Georgieframe Thank you for the information. I think I’m just going to start a single speed, but went ahead and bought a 2 speed transmission as well. I just got back into RC’s and the technology has taken giant leap, so I’m playing a lot of catch up learning.

      @@Im4evergrateful70 So it is! I bought my first rc-car in 1989 (Kyosho Hi-Rider Corvette, it´s still working!) and very much has changed since then! 👍👍😊😊
