    TWO WAY SLAB:
    What is two way slab?
    1. When a reinforced concrete slab is supported by beams or brick walls on all the four sides and
    2. the loads are carried by the supports along both directions, it is known as two way slab.
    3. In two way slab, the ratio of longer span (l) to shorter span (b) is less than 2.
    i.e Longer span (l)/Shorter span (b) less than 2
    This types of slabs are mostly used in the floor of multi-storey buildings.

    Just want to ask. this video shows a non monolithic procedure of concrete pouring right?
    Is it really alright to pour it this way?
    Based on my knowledge, slab ang beam should be poured in monolithic.

    Hi, I have a question if you willing to teach me.
    Should I bend the end of each sides of all main bars so the bend would resist pull out action of the rebar?
    Or the bends are only useful if concrete mixture is poured together for slab and beams where their rebars are tie together?
    In this video slab is not integrated with the beam, and thus their rebars is not tie together, I just asking if there when they are tie together.

      I understand your concern about bend bar. All bar bend the end is the best. But consider actual outsite for worker can do

      you are right, the slab should integrate into the beams. this video can only be viewed for entertainment, not for practical use in construction.

      This small size span. Main bar D10 distance 120mm-150mm is enough. Distribution bar D8 fully enough

    Sir I'm planning to build a large hall of 25 feet x 18 feet slab area. I gave 9inchx12inch 8 columns around the slab. There is no column at the centre of the hall. Will a headen beam work at the center? Or a regular beam mandatory?
    If hidden beam ok then what will be the size of the beam and the rod size? Thanks in advance.

      A good question sir. In this plan, your hall is large so that You need main beam at the center in two way. The size of beam : 23,6inch x 11,8 inch. You can reduce column . 6 column is enough.

      Two-way slab is the best if you don't know that slab is applied oneway or twoway slab. Onemore, twoway slab accept to apply for two cases. But oneway slab can not accept for twoway slab. Consider your budget if you don't know which one apply for oneway which one apply for twoway. Really dangerous

      it depends how you want to do .u can give alternative bent up or you can but starlight bar and next is bent up on both side.
