The Elder Dragon of the Jungle | Guild Wars 2 Minute Lore

If for some reason the typical dragon look doesn’t do it for you, then perhaps a weird wormy tendril monster is more what you’re in to. Meet Mordemoth, the jungle dragon. Like his title would suggest he lives in the jungle, he controls the jungle, he is the jungle. Controlling and manipulating plant life of any kind to meet his needs and bend to his will.
There is lots of lore that can easily be overlooked in Guild Wars 2, if you don't pay attention to it you may miss it. But who has time to watch a super long lore video when you can get all the important bits you need to know in a fast straight to the point video.

Almost spoiler-free, good job there! I'm wondering: before absorbing death magic, it could only grow minions, and not corrupt, right?

Yeah, that's my understanding. He absorbed death magic along with all its abilities. So more than likely only grew his minions before.
