One of the founding members of Steely Dan has already passed. A couple of other members of the touring group have also recently passed. It won't be long before fans can no longer attend live concerts of Steely Dan because the creators are no longer around. Thus, you have a group of young kids like this one in Davao City who have taken it upon themselves to perform a damn fine cover of this song and a few others. Perhaps these young kids will get up the gumption to come to the US of A to perform a concert or three. There are people like Jim and myself who would pay to see it. We will be the old geezers in the back.
@@photo161 what a cruel comment...it's enjoyable to experience different interpretations of songs. donald fagen himself has released covers of artists like isaac hayes, leiber and stoller, etc. i doubt he'd ever presume to say his versions of their songs were superior to the originals, but he still thought they were worth making. i loved experiencing this wonderful interpretation, the congas were a lovely addition, the saxophone solo 100 percent did the original justice, and this is possibly the best performance i've seen by this singer yet. it's also a joy to see that people from different places and cultures connect so deeply with steely dan's music they were inspired to record a faithful and tasteful version of it themselves

I'm 65, 66 in a month. Steely Dan was a cultural staple for me. Broke my heart when Walter Becker died.
