@@ChuanTeh Actually then other states can't move their homeless and migrants here. Then lets see what those so called great at homeless states does. Also California working on more desalination plants and dams and water recycle so we can actually become self dependent so probably wont need to rely on Colorado any more, and we can charge other county more for our own product that we don't like. Also all taxes will go to our own state not to the whole nation. No more funding southern high risk at storm state who loves to threaten our state aid from wild fires..

Stop labelling China as repressive. I'm a Brit living in China since 2008. We are not repressed at all! On the contrary, living here is amazing! I have more interactions with the police staying one week in New York than I have had in 15 years living in China. Actually the only interaction I had here was getting stopped driving through the tunnel that connects Pudong and Puxi in Shanghai on a Friday night and getting breathalysed. A really amazing place and a wonderful and safe place to raise my daughter.

I'm happy Gavin did what he did, but he needs to get off the high horse regarding human rights that American hypocrisy is so used to riding on around the world. What human right issues do US have with China when they are improving the lives of their people, life span and health and culture the minorities from Uyghurs to Tibetans (yes, culture! Look at their schools and what they offer), not to mention all the 54 other minority groups? I don't see we in the US doing anything to that degree, from people sleeping on the street or wholesale incarceration almost along racial lines, or the ridiculously poor Native American tribes which we still locked up in Reservations? Repression of speech when we have Snowden and Julian Assange and all the people we recently censored over Hamas/Gaza issue? Democracy when we have the Electoral College and Senate and Supreme Court and 501C3? China under a dictator when we look away from Saudi Arabia and Thailand and all the other non democratic institutions and don't say a word? China a threat to neighbors when we have 800 + bases around the world literally surround the country the whole Pacific side, setting up Ukraine for the conflict in spite of Putin literally plead with the West before finally forced to pull the trigger, and the blind support we have for Israel no matter what it does?

In human history, the first and only discriminative law set by a government against a specific people is the California’s [The Chinese Exclusion Act] in 1882 effective to 1962. This law was passed after the Chinese labors completed the building of transpacific railroad. The Government of California will have to apologize to the Chinese people and then talk about the railroad again. And it will be a shame for the Chinese to build railroad for them again.
