Lovely hotel, but it's not private enough, what with that heavily used paved 'dirt' road next to the lap pool. Imo, they should have made the grounds 2 meter or so higher before starting to build, but I guess that's not easy- or cheap. Also, that room next to the square pool with a jacuzzi- who will want to use that in plain view of the other guests? And that ship from Athen to Santorini looks a real nightmare: so busy and then having to go look for your luggage in the hold... brrr. Still, nice hotel and I bet the food was great too. And magnificent views!
The NOBU Los Cabos is a 4 star resort, not a 5 star resort, I have been there twice now. The customer service is average, at least the food is sometimes above average at NOBU restaurant and the adult pool is nice. But the customer service is nowhere near One&Only Palmilla. Their closest competitor is beside them at the Hard Rock, so they don't have to try so hard. Now that the St Regis is going in down the road, maybe they will have to pick up the customer service. But every time you ask someone and get one answer, someone else will give you another answer. It is very frustrating to say the least. But that is very typical of Mexico as a whole in the hotel industry. I have seen it in Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Punta Mita. The best customer service is in Italy, France and the UK, also most of Asia. Canada and the US also have mostly poor customer service.
These destinations are getting boring and are always crowded, I grew up in the coasts of Spain I can say Santorini is so overrated and ridiculously expensive… Lanzarote in the Canary Islands gives the same vibes, has the same landscape, same houses, same everything for a tiny fraction of the price

Time for the hotel to get own boats to catch passengers up from other islands and mainland. If you have a five hour ferry I think you can do that in 2.5 hour speedboat
The pool is beautiful. But that seems to be the only thing they have. I just imagine going through all the headache to get there just to go sit by the Pool and then just to go to your little tiny room for the rest of the day. But thanks for showing and merry Christmas!
I'm almost sure I saw it on my way from Fira to Oia last September, but had I known it was founded by one of my favorite actors, Robert de Niro, I would have definitely looked into staying there!! 😂❤
Is there an easier, quicker way to get from Athens to Santorini’s? Flight? The 5-hour ferry ride does not look appealing at all and then it’s an Easter egg hunt to find your luggage.
When's the best time to go? I know July/August are worst times, so maybe its better to go in June or August? I want to be able to swim in the warm waters :(

I agree. In fact of all the properties I've watched him visit, this is probably one of the bottom. I just don't see the luxury or value. The recent one he filmed at the Four Seasons Astir Palace in Athens emitted the exact opposite reaction, I was nearly crying it was so beautiful.

Sorry but paying $400 a night for this man-made minimalist hotel Nobu on Santorini which itself is a minimalist island is not value… Rustic Santorini is by far more authentic.. however any Santorini accommodation MUST be on the caldera’s edge with view of other quaint whitewashed buildings closeby, not in the distance… (also, I could be wrong but is that a human hair in the salad plate @33:15? ). Great video, funeral background music not so great.. thank you for it all . J
I'd say 500-600 usd at max for the smallest room. Aside of the interior nothing makes this hotel really stand out, so it can be seen as 5 star, but not luxury
The professionalism and dedication of the LTE has risen exponentially in my view. To endure such an awful, cattle like ferry ride as he did is well, truly heroic. The LTE is likely the most well traveled and well luxuried human who travels the world for us. I watched the ferry sequence twice and was reminded that this could have been a 5-hour flight on Ryanair. And then to collect your bag amongst the great unwashed ? Yikes. There was not a helicopter service available ?? In the meantime, what an impressive property in such an iconic location. Another property for the bucket list.

Money grab. There is nothing worth the asking prices in this property. I’ve been in Santorini 4 times and even though hotels have become year over year more and more expensive, this is just outrageous. What’s exactly the luxury experience in this hotel that justifies 1200€/night (non refundable)? The prices in the menu are also laughable, as in Santorini one’s never going to spend half the money shown in the video.
Jesus, the beginning looked like a bloody illegal immigrant crossing, would've been absolute hell for me! And as for the hotel, how boring can you get... I can see its a very small place but no doubt expensive. Plus there was no privacy from the room next door when out on your balcony area. The views are certainly stunning but will no doubt get boring after a while and then what else is there for the hotel to offer other than grossly overpriced steamed rice.

"we" don't expect anything, nor are "we" owed anything. LTE doesn't have to share his travels with the world like this, but he does anyway and the rest of us enjoy simply watching them. Is every place he goes to 110% perfect? Maybe not, but it doesn't have to be. Seeing the amazing and the so-so is part of the adventure that is traveling.
The word “luxury” would never cross my lips in describing this property nor do I have any desire whatsoever of staying there after viewing this presentation. 🤔. That said, the views of the caldera are very nice. I know I’d avoid the ferry in getting there and opting to fly instead to avoid that jumble of crowds. 🫤

Personaly i cant think of anything more boring. Instead of Santorin, which is heavily overpriced too, its much more joy to go to Mallorca.
I think that one would find more privacy at a motel 6!! Perhaps this appeals to those with exhibitionist tendencies ... Nothing is appealing at all! Ferry boats are a nightmare! I'm sorry, dear LTE, but this place is awful to me, so it's a hard pass! There is just something wrong/unsettling with Greece overall ... for me, I pick up echoes of souls that are stuck there, wailing. As if built on top of the bleached bones of the dead. The Aegean Sea is beautiful but the white buildings do not appeal to me ("...bleached bones of the dead" lol) although the greenery around the hotel helps a little. The location is NOBU's best selling point, wide sea view everywhere. 100% good for jogging or hiking around the island the whole day.

You can also fly to Santorini from Athens (flight time: 40 minutes)

IMHO, Four Seasons Astir Palace on the Athens Riviera is another ultra-luxe resort in Greece (besides Amanzoe)
