I just started watching your videos and wanted to say thank you for creating and posting this concise and valuable course about Fabric and preparation for DP-600. The way you organize the material is awesome and helps with a better understanding of the subject of the topic. Even though the topic itself is huge and comprehensive, the way you managed and presented the story helps with getting meaning out of the information as you mention the real-world problems that the future Fabric admin will face, during the video. Also, I wanted to note that the way you designed the presentation itself, is unique and helps with visual understanding of the material. Thank you again and appreciate your time and effort to share this with people. You really making a difference

another quality content, used to wonder why are there so many options like dataflow, pipeline, notebook, now I get an idea, great insight on requirements gathering, wholesome package, thank you for sharing :)
Hi Will, just wanted to add on piece about getting on prem data. The copy activity does work but only for SQL Server. If data is in another database like Oracle you’re still limited to Gen2 dataflows
Thanks for the clarification @scottpowell, i remember that one of the limitation of Data Pipelines was its inability to connect to on premise DB, that caused a bit of confusion with what Will has mentioned in his video. Just to double check, so the copy activity works for on premise SQL Server but not for other servers, right?
@@moeeljawad5361 Hi Moe, ability for data pipeline to connect to OPDG was recently made available (preview), you can read more here: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-factory/how-to-access-on-premises-data#using-on-premises-data-in-a-pipeline-preview
Fantastic video❤🔥Pure high quality content, editing, visuals, storytelling and insane amount of research and hard work. This feels like a crime to watch it for free. Amazing job Will!❤❤
Brilliant. Thanks Will. Your channel is by far the best when it comes to learning the concepts of Fabric. How you distil subjects down into manageable learning chunks is so impressive. Also, i cheekily put a comment on SKOOL......a video on Deployment Pipelines and GIT would be really really useful.
Thanks Matt, glad you're enjoying the content! And it's not cheeky, that's what the Skool is there for! We'll be covering Git and deployment pipelines very soon (video 4 in this DP-600 series!).
Thanks Will for this playlist. Keep it going. you mentioned that you have a video that specify when each of the three ETL options (DataFlow, Data pipeline and notebook), that we will find it in the description or showing as a link in the video, but not of them were found. Can the link to that video be added. Thanks in advance
I will be covering this topic again in the next video (due shortly), but here is a link to the video I mentioned in the video: ruclips.net/video/t5mUKaLWpHE/видео.html
Been trying to get in, but it keeps rejecting my card(master card) tried quite a few, still same result (for both free and pay as you go) have no idea what to do again. Need help please
Why are you restricting the On-premise Data gateway to on - premise SQL servers? In power bi we have used on-premise data gateway with other kinds of servers (Oracle, SAP BW, .....)
Hi Moe, just FYI, I don't work for Microsoft, so I'm not restricting anything! The Data Pipeline OPDG connection is in preview currently, I'm sure the will add more functionality in the future 👍
Thanks, yes all the supporting material (including lots of links to further learning) is in the Skool community here (it's free!): www.skool.com/microsoft-fabric/classroom/6e52cd48?md=9065a30b5ef647aeaf7986bd62aad840
In one of your other video you said that "Cannot connect to on premise gateways using Data Pipelines" at ruclips.net/video/t5mUKaLWpHE/видео.html (time Stamp : 16:10) BUT In this video at 8:36 you connected with both Data Pipeline and Dataflow. Can you please clarify ?
Yes this feature became available after the first video, and before the second video. Read more here: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-factory/how-to-access-on-premises-data#using-on-premises-data-in-a-pipeline-preview BUT be careful because the exam questions were written many months ago, and I don't think they have been updated yet. So it's likely if you receive a question about on-premise data, the answer will include a Dataflow, rather than a Data Pipeline 👍
@@LearnMicrosoftFabric Thank you so much for the clarification. I just wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for your content. It's amazing, well-thought-out, and exactly what people like me need. Thank you for making these videos.
That depends on your level of experience! If you have working experience with a lot of the topics covered, then yes. If you’re completely new to a lot of these topics then I think it will be difficult
Thanks! Funnily enough we discussed this this week in the Skool community! There is a big demand for analytics engineering skill sets generally (at least where I am in the UK). There aren’t any Fabric-specific jobs yet in my country, think companies are still figuring it out, but I’m sure they will come 👍 Many of the skills you learn for this exam are transferable to generic analytics engineering roles (git/ version control, sql, python, data modelling)
