    It was my first ugears and first model I've ever built. Mine was stuck after half a turn, but after trying a couple of those troubleshooting tips I could make it run. It doesn't forgive any mistake you make during the assembly but it's great to see it moving now. Awesome!

    Finished the clock last night. After about 20 minutes of coaxing it was running well. The video guidance of loading the mainspring was extremely helpful and reassuring. Great model! Excellent components and instructions. Mezmerizing!

      It‘s 2:30 AM and I just finished the Tower. Loading the Spring was scary but this video really helped me.
      Tomorrow I will assemble the Tourbillon but I need to buy sandpaper first. I have sanded every cog and every piece just a bit, so it’s a bit smoother to touch and the cogs can run better.
      I really can’t wait until it’s finished, I haven’t been this exited since I was a kid.

    Great Video!
    Finished mine a few days ago. Took some time to get it to run properly but after excessivly sanding and waxing the moving parts inside the tourbillon ist runs pretty good. Except some occasional stops (mostly the little notch on the „fork“ swings too far and Locks the mechanism, like shown in this Video) i got mine to run for around 3 Hours More or less, With gaining around 3-4 Minutes in this time.
    Overall a great model and very fun to build!

    Every time I release the lock, the coil comes loose from the toothpick and breaks out of the circle like in the X example at 3:50. I lock and get the end back on the toothpick, but whenever I release the lock, the same thing just happens again. I'm really confused what I got wrong and how to fix it.

    I’m just about to uncoil the spring, but having watched the rest of this video before I do a few things, please can you have audio walkthroughs, for something so complex to have no talking and just pointing us crazy tbh.
    Now I doubt this is gonna work,
    And can someone just tell me we’re the spring goes once fully wound up, such a bad camera angle with no explanation..
    Do you just shove it inside , because that’s what it looks like to me.
    I love your models but a few basic changes would make these outstanding, right now such as these complex ones I never feel there going to work.
    And I also agree with poster in here, tooth picks are a joke for the price this costs…
    I’d pay a few pounds more for better quality parts..

      If you are refering to the main spring, the end that is within the coiled part ends up catching and locating on a cocktail stick part next to where it feeds In... Mine just caught onto it as I wound it in.
      Look at the video 4:03 shows it fairly clearly.

      I just went through this. Make absolutely sure you made the fork right and put the right amount of spacers for the balance wheel and fork.
      You need 2 metal spacers on top of the balance wheel (in between the hemispheres) one wood and metal underneath.
      The fork needs a wood and metal under and a metal on top

    • @rgoodleaf
      @rgoodleaf Год назад

      I have exactly the same issue. Took the tourbillon apart and made sure that everything was lubricated and put together with all the spacers and metal washers. The tourbillon will run very nicely until it turns upside down. As it turns upside down, the escapement wheel goes slower and slower until it stops. Can't see any obvious problems.

      Hey. I had the same issue... I was worried of breaking the tourbillon but after a while I decided to keep forcing the axis in using the wooden tool to help pushing. It worked in the end. Just go ahead gently... but still apply strength. It should go in almost all the way. If you don't push the metal axis correctly (almost) all the way in, when rotating it will rub against other pieces and the tourbillon will stop. Hope it helps :)

    Just about the hardest ugears ever done. I can't rotate/reseat the tourbillion. I move the levers. Get the impulse pin between the fork. Ensure the spring is balanced. But I can't get it to rotate. Am I supposed to spin the balance wheel to coax movement of the hemisphere? The spring keeps coming off the lever. Force ng be to disassemble and start over.

    Mine is working great, the only problem is sometimes the tourbillon gets stuck and I have to turn the dial manually to get started again. Is this because the years were not properly greased?

    • @georgebaxter5152
      @georgebaxter5152 Год назад +1

      Could be. I had the same issue. I decided that there were many points where small amounts of friction would cumulate and stop the tourbillon. I decided to strip it down, re-sand and re-grease . I took the tourbillon out, and let the main spring run down. Then wind the handle. At first, it took six turns before the gears turned. More, re-greasing again and again, until the lowest gears turned almost immediately. I am re-building again, and it is starting to look promising

    Seems like scam to me. A triaxial tourbillon is very intricate and has only a small margin for errors and tolarance. Maybe some of you are lucky and your clock is working, but mine doesn't. Even after I ran it in for 4 hours, greatly surpassing the suggested 10 minutes in the manual.
    Furthermore I don't understand why most of the axes are made out of toothpicks. I already built other clock models and they had metal axes only.
    I would suggest ugears should rework this design and think about including better parts. I rather pay 10 Euros more than have to rely on sheer chance for the clock to work.

    I cannot express just how terrible this model is. It's missing the fundamental basics of a watch escapement, like the safety roller and the banking pins, which is why the pallet frequently falls out of place and the escapement stops. The jump hour also just doesn't work at all, as the little lever on step 3 of page 5 is too long to drop down to the tooth below. Even after filing this lever down, the jump hour works slightly better but gets stuck between the hours.
