A suggestion for a video is to compare the regular versions of these guitars (~$150) with the deluxe versions of them (~$330-360). The question being, is the extra $200 worth the upgrades? Great video, can't wait to see the reviews!

I own a sc500 and sc550 deluxe . The deluxe looks great in a flame top. They sound so similar despite different neck material.the 550 deluxe is lighter due to being weight relieved and as a result had a very slight hollow body sound. Not really noticeable but slightly.
The 550 frets are much better being stainless unlike the 500 nickel ones. They were smooth, very easy to play on and allow great bends. The 500 frets were very scratchy and one was very sharp. I had to spend some time polishing them all .
I have now upgraded the hardware on both, new bridges,, tail ends, nuts and tuners. Much better sounding although I didn't have to replace everything. I seriously advise any buyer to get new tuners though.
The finish on both was superb. If I had to choose one, I'd take the 550 deluxe due to the frets. I'm now a stainless convert, they are superb

I suppose I can't try the old "I've lead a sheltered existence for right at 3/4 of a century now" because it won't hold up to the slightest scrutiny???? Just subscribed. Deakon's color combination Black / Gold has to be one of my favorite, if not absolute favorite, colors for a Gibson Style guitar. Than you both for this dual unboxing. Please keep the great videos coming!!!

my money as well. I own two HB guitars & one bass. I LOVE them! They're my go-to for the studio!

I'm no "guitarist", more a born again learner! I bought two HB's, the DC 580 Cherry , which I bought for my daughter, and bought myself a DC Custom Cherry. I am very well impressed at what you get for the money. Beautiful attention to detail on these axes, and although the Pups aren't too powerful (just crank the volume) they are so sweet sounding for the price. My daughter loves her 580 Cherry, and I love my DC Custom, which has coil split. I thought I would not use the coil split, but it's surprising how close to a Malcolm young tone you can achieve with the split coil, especially when you have the gain anywhere up to 30 percent (ish) . That is what blew my mind on the coil split. These are very playable guitars, not the wanna be's of years past. Great video guys, keep up the awesome work.
On pickups: When I have bought Strat clones in the past, I wasted little time in replacing the bridge single coil with a dual blade humbucker similar to the one you got, Max. Deakon, I join you in revering the Black Beauty look. BOTH those axes kick butt!
The SC 500 vintage has been my main workhorse for about a year now, currently modding it with a set of Fishman fluence modern, Gotoh lockin tuners and sanded down the neck to satin.
Great guitar, might keep playing it as my go to for years to come.
Also switched the knobs to Ibanez SureGrip, couldn't get used to slippery speedknobs.
Got the 550 deluxe..changed to locking tuners..tone pros locking bridge...all new wiring..CTS pots ..switchcraft switch ...and 59/custom hybrid pup...i have many many guitars but this one is unbelievably great. For cost n upgrades totaling around 600..its my main guitar NOW

I *love* that black n gold LP style guitar! I used to have one (an actual Gibson) but alas, it was stolen a few decades ago. And that thing weighed a TON. Enjoy your new guitars, guys!

My first Thomann order took 5 weeks, but I chose the less expensive option. Both guitars arrived without any shipping damage. My HB35plus only needed fret polishing from the factory grit. The tele type had a bowed neck and fret sprouts up and down both sides of the neck. A little work got it up to snuff. Double humbuckers on a cheap tele is worth the effort!
I have an SC 450 plus that had the same toggle switch damage. Just replaced the plastic cap and it's good as new. I also have a DC Custom. Both guitars play and sound great. For the price the quality is amazing and my HB's are regular gig companions to my Strat and PRS. Great video guys.

I had the Covid-delay-ultimately-lost experience, too. After multiple postal queries, I just emailed Thomann about it, and they sent me another guitar that arrived within just a few days.
Love that Les Paul style especially it having the 1st fret indicater makes the neck look so much better.
Damn! I just got an S620 TR from HB for $139. Literally ordered a week ago (delayed, usually get it in 4 days) and got it today, still Amazing time from Germany to Michigan. Anyway, checked the site and the guitar has already gone up to $150! Glad I went for it when I did.

Awesome video, you guys are great together! I have a half dozen HB guitars, and I never stop being amazed at the quality for the price. I have much more expensive guitars, but honestly, I keep grabbing my T-style semi-hollow HB, and my latest, GAS result, a 335 style HB. Really gotta train myself to stay off the Thomann web site!

2.5 lbs more metal, lol. Really digging that black LP, its really beautiful! I have owned my HB SC450 for what seems ages now and I have zero interest in spending thousands on an actual Les Paul.

I just received my first HB/Thomann guitar. It only took 5 days to arrive. I researched them before I bought from them. They even have a live interview video with Harley Benton himself discussing his way of doing business and how they can such quality guitars and such an affordable price.
I got the RB-612 CS. I played it at least 8 hours in the first 24. I love it in every way
No cosmetic, technical or any quality issues at all. I always wanted a Rickenbacher 12-string but couldn't afford it. HB/Thomann made it possible.
It plays, sounds and feels better than I could imagine. I'm pretty proud of it and would get on stage with someone else playing a genuine Rick with complete confidence.
Sorry to go so long, but lastly, it's body is my favorite Rick design ever, but it's not like the Rick body for the 12-strings. It's the body of Rick's small 6-string electric. I love the did that. I like it way better than the normal body you see on Rick 12-string electrics. Think I will get a Telecaster type for my next purchase.
I got a Harley Benton CST-24T a little over a year ago, and it really was a fantastic buy. $330 shipped, not a single blemish. It did need some setup work (the action was pretty high and the intonation was a little off), but for the price, it was worth the little bit of work. The only thing I would have added (and may still) is locking tuners, but it's fine as it is.
The Roswell HAF AlNiCo-5 pickups sound surprisingly good. They have plenty of output without the harshness of ceramics, and when you roll back the volume, it smooths out nicely. The coil splits give it a great Tele vibe, with plenty of bite.
I'm also a big fan of the Wilkinson tremolo they put on these. I really abuse mine, and it stays in tune really well.
Thomann is awesome, you get always you money back quick if something is wrong and they are very helpful when it comes to setup issues if your a beginner.

I got the Harley Benton SC Custom 2 - if I'm getting the name right - the one with the P90S. It takes some tuning adjustment and correct setup with intonation and string height to ensure not fret buzz. I'm not sure it's worth upgrading the pickups for. I'd want a stable tuned guitar for pickup upgrades. Time will tell.
I have the white and gold version of the Les Paul.. had since 2018 love it! Definitely would recommend upgrading the components like the pots etc lol
I have a very short story to beat Deakon's. I ordered a Jackson JS22 Dinky DKA in Natural Oil finish 3 Fridays ago, only to have the thing arrive at my house THE VERY NEXT DAY! The outermost box wasn't even marked! I'll probably never see a delivery time that short again in my life (!), but I really don't have to; it happened once!
I purchased a black LP Custom with gold hardware new with hard case in 1980 for $800 and pretty much beat it up I played so much. Retired it a decade ago before it looses any collectible value it still may have. That Harley Benton looks very much like it did new.

You guys are like a couple of kids at Christmas I got the EX in baby blue with Roswell pickups I got B stock and the only color they had other than the baby blue was pink sparkle the Grover tuners are awesome the neck is awesome it's a little fatter than I'm used to. Even though I unplug it as soon as I'm done playing the Roswell pickups seem to drain battery other than that they sound awesome there's a good range my favorite is my jazz, JB set, Harley Benton great guitar great price
I even got the Harley Benton gig bag that fits both of my jumbo acoustic HB guitars.
Living in Ireland I order most of my guitars from Thomann. They are amazing. I order a guitar priced €200 or more and get free delivery and it arrives about 4 or 5 days later. Harley Benton guitars are superb quality for the price.
I think they restocked and immediately sold them all and went back to out of stock... did you check b-stocks a couple of weeks later? :D

I had the out of stock issue with my TE-20 in metallic blue... They refunded my back order and I'd won a little money at the casino so I bought my Fusion II at that time. Once the TE-20 came back in stock, I swear, they had to have recognized my name and order from before because that guitar showed up in Florida with perfect fret work, perfect intonation and string height and the thing is seriously my favorite guitar to play now. (And yeah, the TE-20 is the one for $66 on Thomann as we speak and it's that damn good) I was blown away with my experience overall buying 5 guitars from them. My friend wasn't so lucky as his Fusion II arrived damaged and though he got a full refund, that guitar was discontinued and his order was for one of the final ones so he never managed to get the guitar he wanted.
The shape of the "Les Paul" style guitar from Harley Benton is more like a Gretsch but with a pointy horn instead of the Gretschy super-rounded horn. The body seems a bit narrower and longer than the Gibson / Epiphone body shape.
The HB Strat-style looks spot on, but from a legal perspective that seems very common. People have been ripping off, um I mean "being inspired by" Stratocasters and getting away with it far longer than they have been "being inspired by" the Gibson Les Paul.
I have not been able to get my hands on a Harley Benton yet, out of stock issue. But of the12 guitars i do have 9 are electric form many different makers. I one and usually only problem is the pick ups. And by no means is it a price issue I have expensive guitars I've changed the pickups and cheat guitars that sound great. So I am definitely interested in hearing more about these 2 guitars and what they sound like. Great video Max.
Max, not sure if you have done a demo on the Harley Benton CST-24T P90 series guitars but I watched your video on ordering two at once to save shipping charges so I ordered the cst-24t and the Fusion 3 Pro HSH. I was expecting that the Fusion to be more premium in every way but I have to say the CST-24 P90 sounds better to me. I'm blown away by the tone of the P90 and how great it sounds. I think others may want to know how good that guitar is. And it's under $250 bucks!

I ordered two guitars from them last year and 4 months later one of them was still on backorder. I sent them a message and asked them to sub for a different guitar. They asked me to pick one in stock and the next day it shipped. I received it about 6 days later. I should have just ordered guitars that were in stock from the beginning. They are both outstanding quality body and neck. The electronics were not great so I replaced it with CTS pots, switchcraft switch and jack, and SD pearly gates pickups. Still a great value.

Shipping at Thommann is a weird thing. I made a video about this, but if you are in the states, there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to their shipping cost. If you add different guitars to your shopping cart, you will see shipping jump around from $60-over $200.
Always choose the UPS option! Germany to Canada in 4 days too!

I just got the Harley Benton SC-DLX Gotoh Pelham Blue model yesterday. It looks beautiful and the Gotoh tuners are buttery smooth but in this HB DLX example I got, the QC is horrible, for the money though I will say, it's got great bones, there's a lot to work with here ie great stainless steel frets, etc... My plans are to change to Bourns pots, make the Vpot closest to bridge a kill switch, the other into a master volume, 3 Way Varitone Bourns Push/pull from KellingSound, replace the 3-way toggle with a 4-way Rotary pot, Ernie B strap locks, clear V/T knobs instead of black, Graphtech saddles and I will keep the Gotoh hardware it's amazing but most of all I already ordered a zero-fret from Z-glide EVERY guitar you own needs one, I can't live without it now lol after these cheap mods my Harley B will play and feel better than most $2000 Fibson products IMO. All in all... it's like $100 ish in parts and wow I already know I won't want to sell it, the Tesla pickups sound great, and to boot... I can technically say I own a Tesla pickup 😂 lol

I've ordered 4 basses from Thommann all HB's and am always impressed with the quality. First time I ordered from Thommann a day after ordering another bass from a popular stateside retailer and the Thommann order got here from Germany a day before the other bass ordered was.

I modded my Strat to single coil Neck ,Lipstick center ,and Mini hot rails in the bridge.
I don't think it's a roasted maple neck, it's just paint.
The description says: vintage caramelized maple (vintage karamellisierter Ahorn)
On other HB guitars with roasted maple neck the description is: Roasted Canadian maple (geröstetes kanadisches Riegelahorn)

Harley benton is currently making new V types and with a pointed headstock. They will probably make pro/fusion models of the V like they did with the explorer. I just hope they will actually make them this time.

I'm going to guess that your issue with the availability changing is because they sold the anticipated stock as backorder before it arrived. For example, if they are expecting 100 guitars of a certain model in 2-3 weeks, and in that time period, people ordered all 100 of them (on backorder), they have to change the expectation time, because you'll now have to wait for the next shipment. My advice would be, if you want it, order it when it's not in stock and get in the order queue. If you order multiple items and one is not in stock, they wait to ship until your out of stock item is in.
I ordered a LP from Harley Benton and neck pick up kinda worked and then it just stopped working BUT the guitar is awesome looking and feels good even tho I just have the bridge pick up working

my sc500 black just arrived today. looked great, feels great. no damage. frets need a polish but no sprout. i will change the tuners for sure, the ones on it are bad to say the least.
