Thanks for the video. These two guitars are quite different acoustically and aesthetically but equally beautiful in their own way. To me, the rosewood sounds warmer and mellower while the walnut sounds bright and clear. Since I don’t have any walnut guitar, I would take the walnut as it is a little more unique acoustically and aesthetically.
I have a 1995 D3H and it is an amazing sounding instrument, very much like the Rosewood model you first played but it has had almost 30 years of playing to open up and it is wonderfully resonant . Collings have a fit and finish that is remarkable. I have yet to find a Collings that I haven't liked nor have I found one with quality control issues. Bill wouldn't allow a guitar to leave his shop without being 100% correct and I'm glad that his team still up holds his values.
Once I owned a D3 Sitka/EIR. I gave her away for a SCGC TR and this one I traded in for a D45 Standard I do not own anymore. Do you wonna know, what guitar I miss most?🤔
I imagine that it’s hard to part way with a Collings. I don’t have Martin D45. I have Martin D41 and Collings D3 and I can part with the D41 easier than I can with the D3 since I will probably have no difficulties in getting another D41 which is probably nicer than my current one.
don’t buy collings 3 series, number looks special but ugly binding design and not special anything. Just series 1 or 2 is enough. nobody buy 3series with extra money, it is not special just plastic binding model.

Both of those sound amazing. Where did this guy go? I always got a kick out of him doing the videos.

I would buy an imperfect or B stock Collings if that saves me a couple grands. I’m pretty sure an imperfect Collings would look and sound great.
Both look beautiful.. I would opt for the Sitka/Rosewood.. but..it's just my opinion. I am a sucker for white binding.
Do you sell George strait guitar's that he plays love with out amen 610ce
