Awesome fishing mate. I'm glad you have got a small taste of what fishing in FNQ is like. The boat speed depends on what sort of fish you are targeting. If you want a "reef" fish like coral trout, go quite slow. If you want a pelagic fish like Spanish mackerel, you need to go considerably faster as they hit their prey at a tremendous rate of knots. I saw a video today of a Spanish mackerel breaching the water when it hit the lure (like Great Whites do when they hit seals) and flew about 10 feet in the air. They are ambush predators and hit from behind usually.
You should take it easy and don't stress about the fish when you fishing in a month of the creek or in a muddy creek there is always fish and bait.i catching big multi in the net here in broome wa bro come to the Kimberly fishing 👍👍👍👍we got beautiful sunset and good fishing here in the Kimberly 👍🙏❤️

Have been out fishing at Clifton Springs yesterday water was very murky no squid no whiting maybe people fished it out on the long weekend previous week went out got 3 big squid and one small one
Barracuda in Far North Queensland get high levels of ciguatera poisoning. Luke whatever you do, dont eat that fish up there, you will end up in hospital in a bad way and you wont be able to eat seafood again.
