Unfortunately, Marko does not understand the salary cap. The Canadians have +|- $4 of cap space with only Xhakej and Ylonnen to sign. X will not be expensive and Ylonnen will become an UFA. They also have $10.5 M of additional cap space. Do you not think +|- $12M is enough for a free agent??
Thanks for your comment now: They have to give contract to Barron and Xhekaj. Then they have 5M to pay Petry Allen and bonus. If you use Price money you lose all your leverage to trade or call up it’s a very bad situation. Now not sure why you said Marko did not understand salary cap.
How about a trade of Habs #28 and Arizona's #6. Habs # 28 and Matheson for Lindstrom or Catton whoever is still available. That's paying heavy for a move up but it can work for both teams. Reply
The second line winger if we get to draft top two, will come from the draft. Demidov or Lindstrom. There are a few 23-24yrs old players available if MTL is willing to move the Jets pick, a dman ( Harris ) for a top 9 player or the Jets first, Harris and Mesar, or tuck or Depending on needs of the other team Dobes.
Marko and Enortap are agree; Duclair Stephensen Marchesseault are their top 3 UFA for the Habs with the right deal... There are over 100 players UFA... We divide it in 3 tiers and i am sure there are more we could talk about but with the situation in Montreal too many player contracts next season it will be hard for Hughes to get Tier 1 player.
@@HockeyNationLiveShow And make Mtl the 8th team in Duclair's short resume! Somethings not right with this guy to have bounced from team to team in such a short time. The Rangers drafted him high but couldnt unload him quick enough. As for scoring inconsistent.
@@royshroud9536 Did you hear any complaint from Panthers and San Jose in the last 3 years . Go check his numbers of goals and now compare to Habs players. One year 2M fit well with Habs did you see what he did with Tampa… he will be better than RHP PEZZETTA in the line up
@@HockeyNationLiveShow What about the other stops, the Rangers: Gorton unloaded him, after one season in 2015. Never heard any praise from Ottawa, Chicago, Detroit, Tuscon, Columbus where he bounced after short stays. Gotta be a reason! One year league minimum, incentivized.
You would need to move out at least 5 million worth of cap space from existing roster and would make it tricky when you go to extend guys like Guhle and Slafkovski...

not to be an agist (ugg, can't believe i said that word) anyway, anyone over 30 I don't think will fit into this long term goals Montreal has. This is why I don't think Stamkos will be a Canadian. Had we been at this point 3-4 years ago and he was a UFA then I'd say all day long, but at 34 going on 35, naw. Montreal should be looking for younger talent but with experience that are putting up points. But also remember next year has two huge names that might be up for sale in Rantanan and Draisaitl, and then players like Marner, Bouchard, Boeser so lets not go looking to break the bank this year on lesser performing players. And with all three money retained spots open by end of next season I see no reason to use them on gallager, anderson, dvorak with armia being traded this off season along with pearson that should allow the habs to sign a big name player and pay them.
We need an elite goal scorer and a power forward for gets 30 goals a season. I like Stamkos if salary was lower.😊 Go Habs. Trade Anderson, Dovark and Gallagher...
@@HockeyNationLiveShow what I would consider. Try to trade for Holtz or Kako for 2nd right wing. Then draft lindstom, inginla or catton for 2nd line left wing. Sign one free agent for depth.
Dvorak, Anderson, Armia, Gallagher should be replaced by stronger players. They do not fit the picture long term. If you want to compete and get to the playoffs those players are not going to cut it.

Doesn't work for Arizona Matheson. Team is rebuilding... You need to give an young defensemen between Hutson Reinbacher Mailloux Guhle at least
Greetings Coach, Enortap and Marko…great series❤️
Thanks Roger more next week

Why not specify which FA to stay far far away from?

@@royshroud9536 Those other stops were a long time ago Roy...seems to have matured. Played well in Ottawa when he was closer to home.
I like Stevenson. He's a proven playoff performer and he scored big goals for Vegas in the cup finals!
I would choose Steven Stamkos, he is a proven 40 goal scorer and probably has 3 or 4 years left in him.
Absolutely agreed with you

He doesn’t fit the timeline and there will be many suitors for his services, this an overpay
Martin Necas from Carolina would be a great addition and Habs can afford to give up a top tier dman and the jets number one pick to get this guy.
How a bout McDavid...unbelievable...don't bet against him 😊
I'd welcome Monaghan again.
At a reasonable price and term..sure. Kind of a quiet playoff with Jets so may reduce his value.
Yep
Monahan can't compete in a physical playoff series anymore. Maybe on a third line for 1 or 2 years only.

Newhook is a 3rd line player
Thanks Kenneth but who do you put there Anderson?
Anderson on the forth line is a joke. He will bounce back to being a 20 goal scoring power forward.
