I had injector knock. Flogged the fuck out of the engine with 2 cans of diesel purge. When the engine was at operating temperature I revved it until it was belching sooot out the exhaust. Injector knock disappeared , and car started easier, and my top speed went from 80 to 115 mph. It would STRUGGLE to reach 80. Now it can roll from 60 to 80 windows a fuss.
Excellent video! Pro tip.. i usually run engine on purge for half the container and switch off engine for 30 minutes and ket cleaner soak and loosen deposits and then run engine again until cleaner is finished. Works much better. Thank you for the informative video.
I found what works good is to let it run for 15 minutes, shut it off with the diesel purge in the system and let it sit overnight, then finish the process..... works great , use 2 cans.
you can also put hose clamps on the hoses so it wont piss fuel around. Pinch it. either with some vise grips or Harbor fright has a 4 pc set for like $8. I already got my use out of it and I just got them. I pinch a water line to change the heater control solenoid and wiper fluid line that came undone.
gotham61 Not a bad thing to do as maintenance, and as something to fill the filter, but won't have the full effect. When you put it in the filter, most of it just goes straight past and back to mix in with fuel in the tank. By doing the purge, the full strength Diesel Purge cycles through the system over and over.
You have so nice and clean workshop. Please get yoursef/do yourself a diesel injector tester, get new nozzles and install them. Injector nozzle is matched to nozzle body with .002mm, if this clearance is too high due to wear, too much fuel will overflow, and you cannot fix it by purge. There are 3 things injector to check: a:) whistle, b:) spray, c:) chatter, d:) leakdown, e:) pressure drop. diesel purge cant fix it all unfortunetly. Please watch injector checking on my channel, i will answer any question because I think purging is not cure for those indirect injection engines. Have a great day
can i use this on my 2001 W203 c220CDI OM611.962 engine? It doesn't have electric fuel pump in the fuel tank, it has mechanical pump in front of the engine.
Is that a white smoke? I really like your videos you are helping these great cars to stay on the road. I've been watching you since you were on Hawaii. I'm glad tou are here in California. I live here too in Sacramento.
where did you get your cap offs for the lines? i did not know they were hard lines. I guess you can get some fuel line and cut a foot out of it put it on then pinch it so nothing comes out .
Christopher Baker yes you can, I do it every few thousand miles, it works better if you do it like in these video, if you put it tank change your fuel filter because it cleans the fuel tank, lines and pump
you can but it is not as effective - the purge liquid will just be sent back to the tank and mixed with the rest of the fuel. Not as potent as if you would run it in a closed circuit.
No pressurized fuel system = fuel pump soon to fail + air locked in system now because you had open purge container from start-finish, also small filter is useless, needs to be upgrade, stop doing silly things to cars you do not understand mechanics, do a job right or don't do it all.
Its not direct injection where you must have pressurized fuel in rail... This is old prechamber diesel, it can suck diesel from barell or whatever. Dont mix into stuff which you dont understand and go back to do your "mechanic" things :) Thanks

when the motor warms up it usually stops smoking from my experience. Another cold start will give you some good feedback
I did mine yesterday and borrowed your idea of using the top of an orange juice bottle. It worked great!
Awesome !
Valve adjustment video would be nice to see! I would add some of the diesel purge through the fuel tank as well, can't hurt right?
the OM603 engine is a self adjusting valves. SO you dont adjust on this engine.
Amazing. How often would you do it, and would it be OK to add it to the fuel tank please? Thanks
Mostly idle. Not varied speeds. Only a couple revs.

Sounds Much Better than before 👍
I usually just fill the new spin off fuel filter with purge each time I change it.

Marcin K-cki great suggestion!
So you recommend immediately replacing nozzles when having injection problems?
Can you any tutorials on a head gasket or transmission problems?
Are you czech by any chance?
Eres un genio. PERO NO SE PUEDE TRADUCIR AL ESPAÑOL. Un saludo desde Uruguay.
Great video, thank you..I will do this on my 190 D..
Thank u so much. I'm a huge fan here in Costa Rica - 87 300td estate
Your videos are very thorough👍
I need this mechanic! Were do i look for this shop !! Thanks so much!!

yes
can you jus open the fuel filter and dump it there instead?

Do you have a tutorial how to diesel purge a Vito 115 639 2005 model?

.
Smart idea using bottle neck.
link for the fuel line plugs set please
Hey, it’s the Toyota Maintenance RUclips guy!
Where do you get a roof rack for a 95 w124?
Speed 1.25
Just gave me the confidence to carry out a diesel purge on my w124 1990 thanks🍻
DG tell me the result. Any noticeable difference?
I think that the hum is something to do with the Turbo, most likely just the air being sucked in past the turbine created that noise
The w124 300D is a N.A. engine non turbo....
Never seen a purge(thanks)
Learn something new 😃
Can you help me diesel mercedes?
Latvian?
Phenomenal thanks
Beautiful!
can you pour it into the tank?
Christopher Baker yes you can, I do it every few thousand miles, it works better if you do it like in these video, if you put it tank change your fuel filter because it cleans the fuel tank, lines and pump
@@meslpy it really a strong medicine huh
You forgot to run the engine a different speeds (revs)
I heard his accent is fake lol. But great information thank you it will help with my 95 E300d
ive had good results just pouring this into a new fuel filter
yes it works well.
Can i put it in the gas tank?
you can but it is not as effective - the purge liquid will just be sent back to the tank and mixed with the rest of the fuel. Not as potent as if you would run it in a closed circuit.
