Well I'm glad they finally made a version of their light that has a low high output option... I always wanted one of their polymer lights but when they always had them at only one setting (80 lumens or whatever) running on 2 cr123a's they seemed pretty useless. Now I actually will consider the g2x pro! I like that it has a 15 lumen setting.
Hey marshall, When will you sell the solarforce flashlights. Is the itp light sc2 cree xpg r5 compatible with rechargeable batteries. What is the working voltage for it
i just got the G2X PRO and i like the power saving mode of the lower setting. sometimes u just need enough light to read a map when ur on patrol and there fore the lower lumens is easy on the night vision. and also saves power. the pro is the way to go.. but then again i'm a pro so i get the pro type gear to do what i do better than the enemy. and thus win the fight... come home for baseball and a slice of apple pie and send the other guy to get virgins. or whatever.
I think you need to upgrade the mag light. My mini mag seems brighter then that one you have and its about twenty bucks. Its not a fair comparison to other high lumen lights.
Are there any compact flashlights out there that work happily and comfortably with rechargeable batteries?. Also what would you recommend is the best compact LED flashlight for a wide dispersion of light/less focused spot, as I prefer that when walking at night in the fields so i can comfortable see the ground around me (to not walk into any cowpats) as well as some distance. Thanks.
How does Surefire G2X Pro compare to a Klarus XT2C or a Klarus XT11? Even though the Surefire is only 200 lumens it seems as bright as the Klarus XT2C which is 470. Is it because Surefire has better standards?
Do surefire lights have IPX ratings like virtually EVERY other flashlight company these days? They should really be able to make their lights IPX8 in my opinion. Does anybody know about their ratings definitively?
@ApocalypticRedIX The tactical model is tactically incorrect. In a tactical situation the high output setting should be first. It makes absolutely no sense to have 15 lumens in a "tactical" situation. And for that matter who needs a 15 lumen light? The pro model should never have been made.
If I had to pick these things out of a crate and depend on them with my life in a nighttime firefight I wouldn't prefer any of them. There switches r just incompatible for what the human body does under stress. People would be expecting it to work like a conventional flashlight and these things take practice using them because one has two modes and one doesn't click on. Lights can hurt u if u give it a command and it doesnt respond the way u want it too. How am I supposed to flash SOS on the G2X?
@goingprepared :) yeah I saw that on their site. We need somebody on youtube or the candlepowerforums to do a dunk test it seems... ....sooo.... who is willing to sacrifice (maybe) a light lol?
I get it, surefire makes a solid flashlight. But why would I want to spend $60 on a light that requires me to constantly buy obscure sized batteries that are not cheap either, when I could buy something like an olight S1 with a rechargeable battery for less money than this light. And the olight also has a higher lumen output as well! Honestly, nothing irritates me more than a flashlight that just chews through batteries, especially expensive obscure sized batteries!
Few problems with what you said. First, this video is 7, almost 8 years old. They've updated this flashlight since then. The g2x pro now has 600 lumens high for 1.5 hours and 15 lumens low for 52 hours. Also, rechargeable batteries wear out, rather quickly in my experience. In 10 to 20 charges I notice slightly less power and run time lithium lithium batteries. You dont have that issue when you just replace the batteries.
Thank you for not making a ten minute video like everyone else needs to for some reason. Thumbs up
Really nice looking light for a tactical.
got the g2x tactical and i love it
@TheBananamanAssassin The tactical model has only ONE mode. the 200 lumens mode. Only the Pro version has the low 15 and high 200 lumens mode.
I'm curious how Surefire's price hike has affected their sales. Love the lights though.

I need to get this one before price will nearly double on 1 April
surefires with competitive lumens. sweet.
Love surefires worth the money for sure!!!!
too expensive. not a good value to price when compared to reputable flashlight companies..
The G2X PRO can be better in law enforcement if you were writing a ticket because you could just pit it on 15 lumens instead of a bright 200 lumens.
I love this light.
Thanx. short and helpfull !
Tactical or pro ?
Marshall I had to do a double take when I saw that this video was finally up lol
@goingprepared Because the surefire is one of my favorite video and light which I'm planning to buy. thanks
Nice review, thumbs up!!.. .
great video, thanks for the info!
Hey marshall,

ok thank you
What's the different between Surefire G2X Pro and 6PX Pro ??
Which one is better ?
Best Review !! Thanx a lot...great Details !

Oh.. the G2X still can't take 18650s or can it?
Do surefire lights have IPX ratings like virtually EVERY other flashlight company these days?
They should really be able to make their lights IPX8 in my opinion. Does anybody know about their ratings definitively?
@goingprepared can I use rechargeables on the sc1. Do I use 3v or 3.7v rechargeables for both sc2 and sc1. Are the flashlights submersible?
can it take 18650 battery or just the cr123
bicho1999 16650 for these lights. $17 2500mah.
Are there any rechargeables that will work in this flashlight that do not void warranty?
Surefire website rates them both at 320 lumens?

Hey brother do you know if the g2x tactical has a pressure switch or is at least compatible with any other pressure switches?
Are these made in the US? Thanks for the help.
Would you be willing to sell one to me instead? lol.... what colors did you get?
is there a reason for those smaller batteries opposed to your classic AA's?
@goingprepared :) yeah I saw that on their site. We need somebody on youtube or the candlepowerforums to do a dunk test it seems...
....sooo.... who is willing to sacrifice (maybe) a light lol?
Are you on or do you frequent "candlepowerforums" dot com--
I'm sure a LOT of people would want to see that test with pics and info.
How come the one on eBay says 600 lumens?
It's the upgraded model.

That's right, you go right ahead and support communism.
