When the ref makes a gesture of pointing both his arms forward, it is an indication that a foul was committed but since the ball is with the player who was fouled,an advantage has been called to keep the game playing.
Nike invited him to film an ad. He had to shoot the ball into a basketball hoop. Everybody was prepared to spend the whole day. He did it in one take. You can see it in RUclips.
At his best he was undefendable. Putting the ball through an opponents legs is the ultimate insult in a game. In many instances players would take violent retribution later in the match on the player who had humiliated them. Ronaldinho was so good that even though he did this to the very best defenders strangely they were not offended!! He was simply playing a different game than others on the pitch and he always played with a smile on his face. He really played simply because he enjoyed playing and was totally unafraid to make plays which no-one else could. He did this against every opponent whoever they were and in a strange way they were in awe of his capabilities.
A penalty will only happen in penalty area which is the box where the goalkeeper is standing in. If the foul happens on the field outside of the penalty area it's a freekick. In some cases the referee will let the play go on despite the opponent fouling to let the game flow (the referee will sometimes give a card after the play if it was a nasty foul). Football is a somewhat physical sport so players are allowed to put their hands on the opponent IF it doesn't interrupt the play too much (it's up to the ref what he sees as interrupting). Also something unrelated to what you were talking about, just remember that the players and goalkeepers can walk everywhere on the pitch. I have noticed sometimes that people who are new to football think that the goalkeepers can only walk inside the penalty area. Love your attention to the details of this sport, keep it up!
When Ronaldinho was a kid, he was already talented. His father told him. Play futebol but always play with joy. He took this to heart and it was a beauty to see him play.

12:49 that’s the signal the ref gives when he says play on(advantage play). Meaning the ref acknowledges that there was a foul committed but he’s not going to stop the play because it looks like the team who was fouled can continue on with the play. Whether it’s the player who was fouled himself or his teammates. Then the next time the ball is stopped he will reprimand the offending player with a verbal warning or a yellow card. The only time the ref will cancel his advantage play and call it a foul after making the signal is because the team couldn’t continue the play for what ever reason because of that foul or if the player can continue the play but the offending opponent commits a tackle worthy of a red card. Then the ref will stop the play immediately and send the player off with a straight red. So if I get fouled but you get the ball and can keep playing. The ref will signal to keep playing. But if I was tackled horribly enough the ref will stop the play even if you can continue the play for me because the ref needs to send off that player. Yellow cards are a big deal because they will carry over to the next game. (And if you get a card in that next game then you won’t be able to play the following game) And red cards will send me off this current match immediately and the next game or next few games depending if the league feels it necessary to ban me for more matches. Learning ref signals will help you understand what’s going on with in the game. Even the side refs with the flags. (Lines men)

When he wanted and was focused he could create chances out of nowhere like almost nobody else but usually he was a free spirited guy and did not necessarily try to always make the most beneficial decision but rather followed his guts for better or worse at times. That's why in terms of overall attacking there were better because more effective and focused wings out there BUT Ronaldinho is considered arguably the greatest Dribbler of all time. His dribblings are magnificent and being able to have seen him in his active time can only be considered a treat to every fan. Also the reason the referees sometimes do not call fouls is because in football we like to keep the play alive if it result in an advantage to the team that was fouled. Imagine a game of american football where there is a 10 yard penalty against the defense but you just connected a pass for 30yds there is no reason to ask if you decline that penalty because of course you are gonna take the 30 yds.

12:59 he’s probably saying something like “play on”, there is a concept called advantage where if a player is fouled but it’s in the process of working to his teams advantage (hence the name) the ref will signal to continue play in lieu of a free kick.

Some Rules: fouls and a penalty are different. A foul can happen anywhere on the field. A penalty is a foul that has been committed inside the big box… the small box is the goalkeepers area…. It’s used for restarting the play after it goes out of bounds or when there is a foul from the offensive team. Basically soccer is a very simple game. You can score from anywhere on the field. And you can use your whole body except your arms and hands…. And out of bounds is when the ball is completely out of the field … so if you see a player stepping out of bounds and he touches the ball while he’s “out of bounds it still counts and is not an illegal play because the ball is still inside the field. And the ref also gives advantage when a foul is committed … meaning that if a player fouls you you can continue playing if you still have possession of the ball so that the game isn’t always stopping… this rule allows the game to flow much better. That’s why the ref points forward… . And yes they do clock the balls speed but that’s calculated after the match…. It’s not like baseball because hitting it hard in this sport is a skill in which most players fail to kick it hard and have accuracy. Players can kick it hard but what’s the point if the ball goes to the moon and doesn’t even aim at the target. In baseball almost every pitch is close to the box … so it makes sense that they calculate it. In soccer a shot can come out of nowhere.
12:53 » the other dude committed a foul, but as Ronaldinho kept the control to go on with the play, the ref does that to say _"Ok, you kept it! Go on, then!"_
1:A faul gives a freekick. If it is inside the big box in front of the goal it is a penalty. 2:Hand on ball is not always a faul. If it is unatended and/or not gamechanging, the ref can keep the play going.
1. Football players don't get as many ankle injuries in spite of those crazy moves because playing it since childhood strenghtens the ankle joint and the supporting muscles, plus footballers are not as heavy as american football or basketball players; 2. The judge "cheers him on" with his hands because the other guy comitted a foul on Ronaldinho, but since he still has the ball and is moving forward the judge is signalling that he will not call on the foul, it's called "the advantage"; 3. They do clock the ball speed in some cases, if you want to see the greatest football speeds take a look at Roberto Carlos' free kick shots, he hits all the way up to 160km/h. 4. The upper corners of the goal are called "the right/left top corner" in english, but in brazilian portuguese we have better names ("ângulo", which means angle or "gaveta", which means "the drawer"). For the bottom corners, we call them "cantinhos", which means "little corners"; 5. As to the pronunciation of his name, the NHO in portuguese is pronounced like the ÑO in spanish, as in "niño", so you pronounce it like RONALDIÑO.
as for your question about the fastest speed of a shot in football. what i found online is that the record was 210 km/h. but honestly anything over 150 km/h is already a fucking rocket. i'll let you convert that into hamburgers per freedom unit or whatever it is
5:50 If a defender commits a foul, but the attacking player or team retains possession and continues play as if the foul hadn't occurred, that is called "playing the advantage". A good referee will wait a moment to verify whether there is an advantage to be played before he blows the whistle to halt play. A referee who disrupts a team's attack with premature stoppage is equally damaging as a referee who doesn't call fouls at all. In some cases, an excessive foul occurs and the attacking team retains advantage. At the referee's discretion, he may go back to the player who committed the foul and issue a card (yellow or red, depending on severity), AKA booking. Incidentally, rules infractions are *fouls* , not "penalties". A penalty is a specific event - a free kick taken 1v1 from 12 yards/11 meters. A penalty is given when a defensive foul occurs inside the defending 18 yard box. American football commonly mixes the two terms - although strictly speaking, we use the same logic. The infraction is a foul, the result of the infraction (yardage assessed, loss of down, etc) is a penalty.
Nossos jogadores brasileiros são diferentes nossa cultura não basta fazer gol tem dar show, ronaldinho gaucho, um dos maiores do mundo, foi mentor de Messi, reaga a outro brasileiro fantástico Ronaldo fenômeno,
12:40 when you get fouled but you or your team have a ball ref can let them play. In this situation Ronaldinho is getting fouled but ref let him keep play. This is gesture ref makes in that situation
@@REZZIKFC If the player is fouled, but still has possession of the ball, the referee will play advantage, allowing the player to continue with the ball.
16:03 » for powerful kicks, "Roberto Carlos": a left back with some fire skills for dribbling and attacking (and, also, a great defender) // but the speed of the ball is more a news thing/ a "today's goals thing", not always they show throughout the game
12:49 that's called "an advantage signal" when a player gets fouled but still able to move the ball forward.. The ref basically tells him that it was a foul but since u didn't fall to the ground u can still go with it..
You can totally "carry" the ball on your shoulders or head or anything, just don't touch the ball with anything below your elbows. People just don't do it because it's impractical af.
This guy ronaldinho maybe the best enternainer in football to ever exist, not just showing off like some player in every highlight but he's a winner too. Ballon d'or is the best player in that year, i believe he's got it in 2005 where he was dominating in that year. Not necessarily who have the most goal, but impact, stats and trophy matters, ill take example with Charles barkley 93 mvp, when obviously MJ who got scoring title, but barkley impact in phoenix suns is way more valuable. Referee not cheering him but its should be a foul, but since he's not falling referee not stopping the play, its called play on, because sometimes if play on and they have advantage to score. If referee stop the play, the enemy can rearranged their defense again. Thats why referee said play on with his hand gesture.
Indoor football, play at courts, are called futsal. It's a variant of football invented in Brazil and, like Beach Soccer, are now under FIFA rule. By the way, as a matter of fact, Brazil is also the biggest champions and each of the major "type" of the sport !
On 12.50 the ref is signaling advantage ie even though the defender has committed a foul the attacker still has the ball and can continue play; the ref will then deal with the fowling player, if necessary, when the game comes to a natural stop.
Ronaldinho and Ronaldo phenomenon (not Ronaldo of this ERA) where the two Spectacular football players at their time..and Ronaldo R9 is considered as the full package and best player of the world too Itz like MJ and Kobe Ronaldo and Ronaldinho
Regarding speed/power of shots, yes they are somewhat measured, but its not as much of a thing as in baseball. Cricket fast bowls are clocked just like Baseball Fast balls, and its equally a thing in Cricket. Back to Football, I am not sure who has the fastest recorded shot, but I would suspect most of those records are only 00's onwards because it was not being clocked so precisely , and even today its not really a major talking point in the sport, but its of course an attribute, placement is usually far more under the microscope. all time shot power/speed merchants, that come to mind, plays like Batistuta, Ibrahimovic and Hulk (yes that is the name of a real player) Also noteworthy Mentions for the like of Shearer, Gerrard, Van Basten, R9 and many others had some real power when needed. Football is a very balanced sport in terms of attributes power in a shot is often wasted without some form of placement, but you dont need power if your placement is good enough, but equally you get more dangerous deflections with power so it can balance out to some degree. Players in certain positions can really benefit from being 6 foot + big shouldered beasts (Central defence, goal keeper, central Mid sometime Striker, depending on style) but you rarely get wing players who are this, and when you do they are unicorns. So you actually get benefit from smaller and/or more agile dudes, in wide and central attacking positions, because they are quicker and generally the taller you are the harder it is to actually have an elite touch with the ball. When you get tall dudes on the wing (like I was when younger) we tend to be thin and mobile high agility and speed but not usually powerful. There are exceptions, John Barnes from back in the day springs to mind, 6foot + muscular , 100% athlete, but silky smooth skills, used to glide through defences, and was mega strong so when it got physical he could more than battle, players like this stick out, its like Magic for the Lakers as a 6'9 guard who could play Center, Barnes could have played , probably ANY position on a pitch because he was that complete an athlete, Ronaldinho was also like this, despite his agility and incredible change of pace, he was also very strong and actually powerful, he is not as built as Barnes was but certainly strong enough to hold his own against bully boy defenders. Ronaldinho is the Magic Johnson of Football if he wanted he could have played any position, and in some regards has the ultimate footballer frame, build and flexibility and agility, R9 was also like his, only more so, built like a boxer, danced like a ballerina, and lethal in front of goal
every time you say "Penalty" you mean "a foul", Penalty is when a foul commited inside the "Penalty area" or the 16 meters area from the goalkeeper line. anyways its nice watching you watching our legeneds for the first time it is very intresting and also funny how you really dont know nothing about it thats crazy to me but very entertaining, keep it up man thank you
Most of the faults are called "fouls". A penalty is a foul or a handball in the "penalty area" which is the big rectangular area adjacent to the goal. A penalty kick is when the striker shoots at the goalkeeper with nobody else allowed between the ball and the goal keeper. It usually results in a goal. Not all regular fouls are whistled as fouls as a) the referee may not have noticed, or b) the referee noticed but he judged that the aggrieved party would be better off not having to stop the play to kick a foul shot as they are in an advantageous position if the referee does NOT give them a foul shot.
First time here, not sure if you have ever watched a vid of Zlatan Ibrahimovic but I've seen vids of him kicking the ball at over 120km/h which would be about 75mp/h for you.
LOL! 12:50 The referee is giving advantage to Ronaldo proceed his running after receive a fault from the opponent (the player can not arrrive behind pusshing and blocking the player carring the ball possession - he have to aim straight to the ball or use the shoulder "side by side" to push other player) 16:16 about the kick speed, usually goes between 50 to 75 mph.
Ronaldinho was great.. You talked a lot of "penalties". Only happen inside the box. A foul or playing the ball with your hand result in a penalty kick off 11m / 12yds outside of the box results in free kick. it differs on direct or someone has to touch the ball before youre allowed to score. if you shoot a ball directly on an indirect free kick and nobody touches the ball on it's way into the goal, it will result in a goal kick. But Í'm enjoying your content and like how you're willing to learn.. About the games of games.. I apologise for my bad english but it's not my native language.. Greetz from germany and keep going!
Don't know who told you that you can't put your hands on another player. Football's a contact sport. 22:40 - yes, that's legal because the ball's on his shoulder. It's only your arms and hands that you can't use. Penalties are direct shots on goal that are awarded for fouls committed in the penalty box (which extends 12 yards from the goal line). A foul anywhere else on the field results in only a free-kick.
You keep asking if it's not a penalty but, not every foul in football is a penalty. It's only a penalty if the foul is inside of the goalkeeper box (the square marks in the goalkeeper area).
Johan Croyff: Father Of Modern football is a good reaction. Or Kevin De Bruine (midfield), Steven Gerrard: The most complete midfielder, Zinedine Zidane: Master of Elegance. For Goal Keepers Manuel Nauer, Iker Casillas, Ter Stagen, Gion Luigi Buffon

This is a quality that is easy for us Brazilians, what is difficult for some is easy for my nation.
1. Football players don't get as many ankle injuries in spite of those crazy moves because playing it since childhood strenghtens the ankle joint and the supporting muscles, plus footballers are not as heavy as american football or basketball players;
2. The judge "cheers him on" with his hands because the other guy comitted a foul on Ronaldinho, but since he still has the ball and is moving forward the judge is signalling that he will not call on the foul, it's called "the advantage";
3. They do clock the ball speed in some cases, if you want to see the greatest football speeds take a look at Roberto Carlos' free kick shots, he hits all the way up to 160km/h.
4. The upper corners of the goal are called "the right/left top corner" in english, but in brazilian portuguese we have better names ("ângulo", which means angle or "gaveta", which means "the drawer"). For the bottom corners, we call them "cantinhos", which means "little corners";
5. As to the pronunciation of his name, the NHO in portuguese is pronounced like the ÑO in spanish, as in "niño", so you pronounce it like RONALDIÑO.
as for your question about the fastest speed of a shot in football. what i found online is that the record was 210 km/h. but honestly anything over 150 km/h is already a fucking rocket. i'll let you convert that into hamburgers per freedom unit or whatever it is
5:50
If a defender commits a foul, but the attacking player or team retains possession and continues play as if the foul hadn't occurred, that is called "playing the advantage".
The infraction is a foul, the result of the infraction (yardage assessed, loss of down, etc) is a penalty.
this is my second Favorite player so far 🤟
Glad to hear you got so manysubs so fast..All the best brother
Thank you
Nossos jogadores brasileiros são diferentes nossa cultura não basta fazer gol tem dar show, ronaldinho gaucho, um dos maiores do mundo, foi mentor de Messi, reaga a outro brasileiro fantástico Ronaldo fenômeno,
12:40 when you get fouled but you or your team have a ball ref can let them play. In this situation Ronaldinho is getting fouled but ref let him keep play. This is gesture ref makes in that situation
The red is pointing that even though it was a foul, he will allow advantage.
Thanks for explaining that lol. I was so confused
@@REZZIKFC If the player is fouled, but still has possession of the ball, the referee will play advantage, allowing the player to continue with the ball.
19:33 the rep system on football Is called VAR they check if they need...there's also automatic goal check and semi automatic offside
3:50 when someone commits a foul and the player ignores it to keep playing the ref can just let keep it playing
14:20 poor guy :)) one of the best defenders in last decade, still inexperienced then!
We called him the wizard one of the best
He was fouled but the ref allowed him to play on rather than blow the whistle
16:03 » for powerful kicks, "Roberto Carlos": a left back with some fire skills for dribbling and attacking (and, also, a great defender) // but the speed of the ball is more a news thing/ a "today's goals thing", not always they show throughout the game
Junhinho is still the greatest free kick taker to ever exist.
@@amasim86 Definitely
12:49 that's called "an advantage signal" when a player gets fouled but still able to move the ball forward.. The ref basically tells him that it was a foul but since u didn't fall to the ground u can still go with it..
You can totally "carry" the ball on your shoulders or head or anything, just don't touch the ball with anything below your elbows. People just don't do it because it's impractical af.
2:59 exactly, they step on the ball but they dont put the weight on the ball
5:49 bro in this sport everybody are constantly trying to sneak dirty plays😂
LMAO
That's ref is saying play on bcz opponent holding his tshirt and he is giving him advantage instead of stopping the game
The POV cam following him is real it was done as part of fifa football intro on a game
The small pitches with small goals is called 5 aside or 6 aside
The Crossbar trick is real. And he did it 4 times in a row.
12:44 Other player tries to hold him (fault) referee is indicating keep going (Advantge rule)
I think next video should be Understand european soccer in 4 simple step a guide for americans
Go check "Ronaldinho at the All Star game" and you will see the legend he is.
00:11:29 Ballon d'Or (Golden Ball) = best player of the season (in Europe).
they call them football boots cause players back in the 1800s and so on use to play with actual military boots that have metal crampons on the bottom
It's pronounced (Ronald-Diño)
Ronaldinho and Ronaldo phenomenon (not Ronaldo of this ERA) where the two Spectacular football players at their time..and Ronaldo R9 is considered as the full package and best player of the world too
Itz like MJ and Kobe Ronaldo and Ronaldinho
17:13 it's called "the angle"or top corner
Ibrahimovic shot something like 93mph but he's not the actual récord of shot
There are exceptions,
John Barnes from back in the day springs to mind,
6foot + muscular , 100% athlete, but silky smooth skills, used to glide through defences, and was mega strong so when it got physical he could more than battle, players like this stick out, its like Magic for the Lakers as a 6'9 guard who could play Center, Barnes could have played , probably ANY position on a pitch because he was that complete an athlete,
Ronaldinho was also like this, despite his agility and incredible change of pace, he was also very strong and actually powerful, he is not as built as Barnes was but certainly strong enough to hold his own against bully boy defenders. Ronaldinho is the Magic Johnson of Football if he wanted he could have played any position, and in some regards has the ultimate footballer frame, build and flexibility and agility, R9 was also like his, only more so, built like a boxer, danced like a ballerina, and lethal in front of goal
12:52 the ref is saying yes it was a fault but you have the advantage so keep going
The music its like 50% of this video!
every time you say "Penalty" you mean "a foul", Penalty is when a foul commited inside the "Penalty area" or the 16 meters area from the goalkeeper line. anyways its nice watching you watching our legeneds for the first time it is very intresting and also funny how you really dont know nothing about it thats crazy to me but very entertaining, keep it up man thank you
20:09 » not allowed, but still fun to watch 🤣
Just put out a reaction to Zlatan today. He is amazing
lord of the wing jimmy johnstone he was Scotland and Celtics great player check him out bro
1:40 to explain it simply HE IS THE ENTERTAINMENT
15:55 yeah, that would be Roberto Carlos. Most insane kicks ever, whatch his highlights
12.51 the ref is doing the sinal to continue, because the player is doing faul but ronaldinho keep the ball in control any way ,so continue
gols => Where the owl sleeps, Acertar o ângulo, Na gaveta, Fuziou o goleiro and othres
want to see ball control, check Maradona's Warn Up, or Maradona Life is Life.
Thank you. I will put that on the list
0:13 » for u guys, it'd be like _/ Ronaldeen'yo /_ - that "nh" sound is a bit complicate for u americans 😅
8:22 that kid is Lionel Messi by the way
Ronaldinho was great..
Check some Roberto Carlos for hardest shots ! Trust me on this his kicks was just inzane !
The ball travels up to 80 mph
For Goal Keepers Manuel Nauer, Iker Casillas, Ter Stagen, Gion Luigi Buffon
fast kick roberto carlos
13:45 this sport gives very strong ankles and calves
When he bounced the ball off the bar twice.. Thats a snip from an advert for Nike. The full ad is 3mins long and he actually hits the bar, not twice but 5 times on the trot! Seeing is believing so i have copied the link for you. There is no music and no obvious brand visible so copyright shouldn't be a problem and you can hear the sound of the ball hitting the bar. Listen out for the 5th as you wont see it 😊

That "kid" is Lionel Messi lol

15:57 if you want to see the fastest kicks check out Roberto Carlos
