Pulchra never was a member of the Vanquishers. she mentions over and over again that she's just a mercenary that only goes as far as her pay requires her to. so no redemption arc needed for her, really. Bellum is also clearly set up as a character that's not purely evil, showing obvious remorse after fighting Lighter. Mors is perhaps the only one where some redemption would be needed.
Yeah Bellum is not clearly evil, and for Mors, Maybe Lucio betraying him? or something, to get his redemption arc. But i think for them to become playable, maybe after The Void Hunters, The idols and that group Lycaon mentioned before where he worked with when he was young.
The new virus mini-game that you get from Nicole drops some more Obsidian Division lore. No info on specific characters though. At this point all we have are 3 names that are in the game. There are certainly 3 people Soldier 11 knows, but zero confirmation they will ever show up in the game. That would be Trigger (from Mole in the Hole mission), Seed (a robot), and Captain Magus (as in a magic user based on how the last name translates in multiple languages). So the fact that they are putting hints in the game could be a sign that Hoyo is far closer to ready to release Obol than the other speculated factions mentioned in this video. (obviously Section 6 is next... but all the others) There are no in-game documents or newspaper articles or anything that acknowledge Idols in New Eridu. No trust even dialogue lines about Billy going to a concert or Anby listening to a CD or any of that small stuff.

But I wouldn't be surprised to see something like an Anby backstory special episode for 1.5 Though it could just as likely be something like Bellum, Pulchra, and Mor. I would bet all the polychrome I have it will not be the Idols. Generally for every 50 pieces of Concept art only 2 or 3 make it into the game, so Trigger may or may not end up following that general idea. But either way, I have polychrome saved up to pull Trigger if she becomes an agent.
I can see Ellen being secretly obsessed with the virtual idols and dragging the player character to a concert of some sort leading into her getting a rerun. It will probably be a Billy and Anby focused story, however, but the Ellen theory would make sense to.
I sure hope that Hoyo sticks to the 1 banner approach they have now. Having a rerun of a character you already have would be a nice break to the constant storm of new and amazing characters that we have right now.
If HOYO releases another trailer for the next 2.X patches it would include a lot of new, familiar factions or even other squad of some military factions, and finally hoyo will always be releasing lovable or even most impactful character, if shown in the story (and probably Miyabi, maybe a Void Hunter in a sense, type of hype) in the end of the said patch trailer, if they follow this route people are getting more time to save, pull and skip like the current 1.X patches, and it always intriguing to see how it relate to the games story and direction.
personally, i think they will either expand the list of factions, expand existing factions, add free agents without factions or any combination of the 3 to keep the roster going.

Maybe, but they were said to be from the “old era” or smth like that. But after chap 4’s story. We see that the fall of eridu was literally like 10 years ago or so. It really wasn’t that long ago it seems. Especially since belle and wise were Alive at the time. But this is all assuming the void hunters were active during those years of the old era. They could’ve been alive before wise and belle or even born. But I’m willing to bet that many are still alive.
So far, I've been limiting myself to 1 S rank agents per patch since I want to stay relatively low spend, but Yanagi and Lighter look so cool. And even though Im not that big of a fan of the virtual idol designs, they all look like they are going to be really good kit wise based on some of the leaks. (Plus, I really want an anomaly character of each element. Jane will forever be meta to me.) Miyabi will be a must-have 100%, and tbh I'm HOPING that Harumasa will be an A rank and go with the Miyabi banner and not be a Lighter situation again where he was randomly made an S Rank lol.
They need to add more A rank main dpses of other elements. Right now we have Billy, Corin and Piper who are all PHYSICAL. And as a player who just started in 1.2, how am I supposed to build 2 teams of different elements?
i neeeed that big robot lookin void hunter from the old teaser. billy and qinqyi are pretty alright for robot characters but i'm really hoping for something beefy. i'm still burned by trying out HSR after seeing Svarog only to immediately drop the game after realizing he isn't playable and i don't like any of the character designs. ZZZ has so much more potential for interesting characters when there's more than just aesthetic and clothing to differentiate them. having robot, thiren, half thiren characters of different shapes is a lot more unique than the other playable hoyo designs i see imo
from some leaks pulchra might be a 4 star in the near updates , unless they dive deeper on her story, other than that from coming updates i believe we will start to learn more about the AI's similar to Fairy there is Youkai which seems its an AI that specialises in corrupting and hacking data and is already in effect by someone else , miyabi for example has that floating eyeball by her side looks like a heliobi from star rail but it might just be something similar to fairy as well , she is still a mystery but as much as we know she is the sword master and one of the void hunters / the defenders of the city . overall im super hyped for 1.4 especially , it looks promising
I think the Virtual Idols make perfect sense for the 1.6 update. IMO they feel like Jane Doe. Very inetersting yet largely irelevant to the plot. Perfect filler content. On the other hand, the Orbal Squad is definitely a treasure trove of story content. However, I believe we wont see them tiĺl 2.0. They remind me of Section 6 in that they seem bigger than they seem in terms of importance.
