This video is epic ....l'm still jammin to this in 2023...the choreography, the vocals and Heavy D...a legend. This will ALWAYS be a favorite in my book❤❤💯💯
Every one who participated in the video definitely brought their A-game. This video should go into the music hall of fame as one of the best videos of all time [if there is such a category]. Janet is so smooth, controlled, and confident. She made it look easy... she looked great, sound great, and didn't oversing or danced. She danced so in tune with the music that she became one with the rhythm. Kudo's also to her companion dancers as they too held their own. Janet ranks alongside her brother Michael as being one of the greatest entertainers of all time. Janet- thank you for sharing your gift to the world.
The amount of work and expertise that goes into the production of a high-quality music video is phenomenal. The Jacksons always shined with excellence!
They usually dance better😅 Everytime my petite self would dance with a big guy he had me dancing on the ceiling😅 Its like he had been waiting to cut that floor up and I was there for it😅
Damn, the budget on this video must have been huge! The scene with Janet dancing with legendary dancer/movie star Cyd Charisse is on point! No other female in music did dance videos like Janet!
@@mamadouaziza2536 You are so wrong and your math is OFF! She was born in 1922. She did the video with Janet in Feb. of 1990. That would make her 68, turning 69; that year! So we both were wrong! I'd read, in an article that she was 80! Another article said 83! She died at 86, in 2008! 🙄

I'm blown away by this production! The detail, costumes, the history and the pace of the dance movements are stunning and surreal. This was an AMAZING tribute to the great black American invention of jazz and swing. A visual and musical masterpiece!

They could never destroy the Queen of our Rhythm Nation 😃💞👑💞 She keeps shining brighter than the sun itself, and she'll never be cancelled or stopped!!!

We didn’t have social media to distract us but we had awesome music !! Every artist was bigger than life. Then we just danced , dressed crazy and had fun. 😔
I came by after reading about this video in a Cab Calloway biography. When this and other music videos came out, I sure didn't appreciate the production values. It's like a short, high production movie! Cab was an example of a guy that had "it" and kept "it" until the end. He was so much more than just Minnie the Moocher. Thanks Janet Jackson for giving him a classy sign off.
Thank you Janet. Seeing this video for the first time reminds me how beautiful the flower of of your youth was. Your inner beauty never fades. You know this song was the bomb at the time. It was such a positive and affirmative time in Black History and you were an important part of it. RIP Mr Heavy D from Jamaica Jamaica! Jamaicans were instrumental in the creation of hip hop not many people know that.
And many New York rappers are Jamaican offsprings, Biggie of course, Busta Rhymes, I think KRS-1 and even though he is from Great Britain originally, Slick Rick
The mannequin challenge --- before it became a thing, her interactions with the kids, the kudos to the Nicholas brothers and cab Callaway, the inclusion of her main producers Jimmy jam and Terry Lewis, the choreography, it's all just chef's kiss.
