- Hi everyone! I thought I’d share with you some of my main top tips for when it comes to drawing realistic black fur on white paper, with coloured pencils. Black fur is something that many artists struggle with! I’ll talk about what professional coloured pencil techniques you can use to give your black fur drawing that realistic level of depth, and avoid it looking ‘flat’.

Quel talent !!!! ça semble si simple comme ça 😁...mais je sais que chez moi ça ne donnerai rien !!!
If you're drawing on paper that isn't white, like Canson Mi-Tientes Pastel in earth or gray tones, would you simply do the same thing?
@@LioraHessArt not quite. If you were working on a grey coloured surface, then the background colour will act as a mid tone almost, so you’d focus more on the darkest areas and highlighted areas. The beauty of drawing on a darker surface is that you can draw in your highlights and they’ll show up easily against the darker background ☺️
