Bob Knight is a polarizing figure. He's very bright. His emotions got in the way of being a 5 Time National Champion or even more. Either way I love the General. 3 National Titles ain't bad at all.
"Never been the same" is an understatement. Sadly a joke of a program for being the number one state in the US for basketball. I read from a philosopher once to "judge by statistics." If the someone is not liked but they out produce everyone else then that person has protection. Judge by stats on the graph. One can always assign a stat and give a person a graph and an executive can look at it every week.
While some people would object to Bob Knight's hard driven personality over something as trivial as basketball most would agree that his personality would be great for straightening out kids who have behavioral problems and are at risk of failing in life. This is my opinion on most things, strictness is the remedy for the wayward, while guidance and encouragement is for those people who try to walk the straight and narrow, always striving to do their best at whatever it may be. To me to want to walk the straight and narrow is in a sense being strict with yourself and that should make a positive impression on any coach and leader of whatever he or she may be.
i dont wana b a hater but there were like 2 or 3 times he was gna say something really cool and she just interrupted him and changed topic 2 something dumb. i cant believe she read the book b4 the interview tho that blew my little pod
the interviewer interrupts far too often. maybe she has a list of questions she wanna get done, but I guess PPL are more interetEd in rob's opinions rather then her questions
Win·ning·est ˈwiniNGist adjective informal adjective: 1. Having achieved the most success in competition. "the winningest coach in pro-football history"
Just why I went to comments, She should have kept her damn mouth shut and let him answer the questions. She would ask him questions and then cut him off. Bobby should have thrown a chair at her.
7:41 quotable "stayed somewhere too long" your 2nd guessing yourself showing your human real talk Coach 8:50 "get a degree from the Shut-up school". Amazing work
Saying NO doesn't work for victim's! Victim's can't say no, cause what happens if they do? They are beat up! What happens when a victim reports? They are beat up!
Geez, she needed to tell the folks in her ear to shut up and let him conclude his points. Her follow ups are great, so you can tell that she was told to ask another questions at times which messed up some of this interview.
HEY BOBBY. GUESS WHAT... there is a guy named JOHN WOODEN who is known as the GREATEST of all time, and he thought opposite of how you do. Positivity is everything. Positive attitudes=positive results. You- 3 NCAA titles, Wooden- 10. I'm sure Coach Knight hates being compared to Wooden.
I dont think preparing for something Is negative thinking or being careful is. Positive thinking does not mean to not prepare and just take massive arrogant risks. preparing is sensible. doing so enthusiastically and preparing is a mix of positivity and sesibility. being honest isnt neceasarily negatove eitither
although that title is more conducive to what he's saying, it doesn't really catch the audience's attention. he called it "the power of negative thinking" because it's more ironic and controversial. the power of being a realist sounds too bland. his title his more thought-provoking. it's all about marketing your book hahaha
Knight isn't a businessman, let him explain his philosophy in basketball terms and then let the viewers decide how to apply those ideas to their own lives. Don't ask him how to run a business when he specializes in coaching basketball. Very frustrating.
We're sort of at the point know where Bobby is just wandering around stringing together sentences that don't make much sense. Of course, its very possible that's what he was ALWAYS doing.
Bobby Knight stays up late trying to invent a game plan that calls for all pass, no dribbling, full court press defense and keep the shooting to a minimum. And, no freshmen starters, and kids stay in school for five years. Ideally, all his players would be terrified of him and enraged at their opponent. In the end, win the championship, everybody graduates, and half the kids commit suicide.

He left IU and their program has never been the same. Pretty much sums it up.
Yup!

the school has been overtaken by far left losers, gg, we will never see the final four again.

A lot interviewer's think it's about them. Like we tune in to hear her questions more than to hear the responses.
Never seen him smile and laugh so much.

0:55 "The will to win is not as important as the will to prepare to win..." RIP
I have the book. What a great read.
Bobby Knight for President.
Ransom Bodeen He's a sociopath.
Affirmative action interview.
This lady needs to let the guy speak. It could be bad producers though.
perfectionist.
2:06 preparation is stronger then the will to win "wait a minute" "no" so he can control it and overturn it with "yes" OG coaching
The power of preparation will be a better title
great book great coach
I wish she'd just let him talk.

Knight's biggest mistake was staying at Indiana too long...and not his inexcusable behavior that got him fired?
@Daniel Dougan.
Quiet! Pussy.
All behavior is excusable, even the worst, that's the whole idea of forgiveness dipshi*
No. I'm not going to read his book. How's that for the power of negative thinking?
Good stuff.

Too many interruptions from interviewer. But great book reading it now
She has the same problem that most women have. She can't shut up and let the man talk!!!!
She constantly interrupts him mid-sentence. Terrible interviewer.
Horrible interview. She interrupted him way too much.
totally agree

Austin Shanks different time different place. Coach K came from the Knight Tree. Wooden had Jabar & Walton who did Knight have😀
Knight won 899 games, 11 Big Tens, and 3 rings with one future NBA All-Star, Isiah. Dude would coach the pants off Wooden.
Knight doesn't like Wooden I heard.
Wooden cheated on recruiting his entire career at UCLA.
@@cpbutler567 Larry Bird?

She looks tired.
What a terrible interviewer.
Is her last name interruption?
MAGA!!
Or, the power of asking your library to get it so you don't have to pay for it directly, like I did.

Basketball and negative thinking. Next.

No, The Power of being a realist sounds better.
Great ideas. Why, why and also prepare. She is annoying. Lol.
the mind is a terrible thing to waste
its talent
Say "no" to B/K as a tv analyst aka self-reference king (2013 NIT final).
