Yeah some exceptions exist, like Oblivion, Bioshock, Wanted Weapons of Fate. It really depends on the company, the engine used and sometimes the PS3 ports came out way later so they had a lot more time to optimize the games. What's funny is that Portal 2 on the PS3 version had extra features, like move support and even Steam Integration after Gabe Newel said that the PS3 was literal garbage and one should be developing for it. (That's probably why Left 4 Dead came out only on the 360 too)
Don't forget Ridge Racer 7 & Ridge Racer 6 are the same games but exclusive on each console. Ridge Racer 7 on PS3 showed better graphics & ran 1080p 60fps!
@@GenesHand I hear Gabe Newell wasn't involved with the PS3 port of the Orange Box. it was done by EA Games which is probably why it turned out horrible on PS3 but better on Xbox 360. He probably called it bad without even trying the systems hardware. But eventually he was involved with the PS3 version of Portal 2. Which he probably manage to take the time to figure out how the Cell Processor works, which may have changed his mind.

You don't see past 60fps? Is that because you don't have screens that go higher than 60hz? Your eyes are fully capable FYI so I am unsure about that statement.
3:35 you do not see any difference 60fps or 120fps? please check that. maybe your hardware is not good enough to handle this classic source engine game :(
120 fps is better when played on mouse&kb from my experience. For newer games with gamepad 50-60 is ok and for older ones 80-90 is a sweet spot between too hot and too laggy.
I have 144hz monitor and seriously you guys exeggerate the differrence between 60 & unlocked way too much. I only see the real advantage when I am playing multiplayer games like CS GO & its mostly input related, otherwise in majority single player games 60 vs 144 don't make a huge differrence. Specially basic games like portal.

I don't understand 1:40. All Nvidia Lightspeed Studios is handling is the Switch version. Since you're pulling from DF's legwork with the framerate tests and metrics, this is an easy video to do. I think you should've waited for the Switch version before making this. Maybe you were using this video as a learning exercise, but otherwise all you've introduced is 1080p Xbox One X footage

Yes, there were several games (Portal 2, Tomb Raider Underworld, Mirror's Edge), which looked and/or ran better on PS3.
