Yeah the thing I'm noticing is that the Indie scene is starting to lead to a rebuilding of the AA category. A category that all fields need to some extent. Another game worth noting is ALISA which you can get for $17 while getting a 6-7 hour game with multiple reasons to replay such as new endings and new unlocks.
Triple A has long shifted its target audience to 10 hours, battlepass, p2w enjoyers and who can blame them its easy money. Nothing will change, they just checked how far they can go.
I've been noticing this "Vidya is healing!" meme pop up everywhere. This MUST be a literal viral marketing campaign. I am not seeing ANY signs of gaming going back to the early 00s' golden age. Shitty, overpriced, CENSORED de-makes of older games. "Games as service" trash still going strong. Modding tools and private server hosting still a rare feature in modern games. Entire genres still MIA, many old IPs still being sat on my uninterested, greedy publishers. Sure, it's neat that indies are beating the shit outta many AAA trash, but it's still not the norm.
well, more indie games are becoming more highlighted and double A's. 99% of triple A suck so much. or just cash grab, not meant for fun. wish more people didnt give them money so they can see the way.
This game is the exception not the rule
