I've been using Brita for over 20 years. Even my late cat got filtered water.

Where is the fill line? How do you know how much water to pour into the reservoir?

I’m reusing this to water plants I was so happy that you kept this review up so now I don’t have to measure how many cups it is

I just got this. I love it so far. There's two videos, both older than yours, that show how to get the reservoir out. Simply fill it with water and turn upside down (in the sink of course) and it pops right out. I was having trouble with it myself, so I came to youtube for help.

7 years later but thank you for this tip! I was going to buy the newer models but $50-70 is an outrageous price for a water pitcher. I ended up finding this one at a thrift shop for $7, just couldn't figure out how to get the reservoir out!

I have had my dispenser for almost 30 years and I really like mine. Since mine is much older. I believe it is better quality. It plastic is VERY sturdy. It is much easier if you just place the entire dispenser in the sink and refill. There is no need to take the entire top off; just remove the small top, fill and replace. 🙂

Wait what 30 years? Crazy how I thought these companies were at most 20 years old.

Thank you for making this video. I realize how much I spend on bottled water and how plastic does more harm to our environment than most people know. Your video was very helpful in making my purchase. Thank you!

I own this dispenser and I love it. This is my second one also. I did drop the first one and it shattered. I use mine every day and I have no problem removing the inner part for cleaning. If it feels a little stuck, it probably air trapped in it. All you do is take a sharp knife and insert it between the outer and the inner tray and it pops out easily.

I got mine on ebay (UK). My one is a little different. I got the Maxtra+ versions, that is better than the Maxtra. My filter is oval in shape instead of circular, the same ones used in my Tassimo coffee machine. Removing the tray and lid is easy, no resistance at all on them, pulls off in seconds! I do not know if these teething problems are only on the Maxtra version, but my Maxtra+ (that filters 25% smaller particles than the Maxtra does if I remember correctly) is fine, none of the problems that you have. I have not dropped mine yet, but I can imagine with the weight of the water, it will not he hard to break. The Maxtra and the Maxtra+ are the same price on ebay, I definitely recommend the Maxrta+ version :)

There is a genius on RUclips that has a video on how to remove the water reservoir for total cleaning. He leaves the filter in, fills the reservoir to about 1 or 2" from top. Then gently and slowly turns the Brita upside down so the water drains out and the weight of the water pushes the reservoir out. It's amazing and it works!

Nope... that never worked for mine. But hot water did.... Pardon me please I ... I ... (🤬🤬🤬🤬🖕🤬🤬🤬🤬...🥵🔫) I got PTSD from years of stress from my container.

I know this review is 2 years old, but the top is very easy to remove. Simply put some dish soap in the tank with water and flip the container upside down over the sink and shake up and down. The weight of the water with and the soap will easily remove the top for you.

I have one of these and it's probably 10 + years old. Taking the reservoir out is super easy - unlike yours. Not sure if these aren't made as well or if you just have a faulty product. I put mine into the sink to fill it - just have to remember to use the cold water tap lol. Taking it out of the sink can be a bit tricky if you have issues with strength or arthritis.

Use soapy water to release the friction between the plastic-plastic interface of the top and bottom parts.

All you have to do to remove the plastic piece is fill the bottom with water, flip it upside down over your sink, and give it a couple shakes - it will pop right out.

Well it's 2022 and someone gave me this same model. And it's actually fairly new when I took the lid off I could tell that maybe it was either never used or used once or twice. But in any case, I thought this is weird I can't take the reservoir out because I didn't want to break it it was stuck in there pretty good. So I just left it. I didn't have the box it came in the person who gave it to me just had the dispenser and a brand new filter so I have no clue. I read up online on different Brita filters and they say 6 months. But in this video it says 2 months so I don't know I guess I'll figure it out. I don't like the dispenser only because I like my water to be cold and I don't want to stand in front of the refrigerator and getting a glass of water every single time seems kind of a waste. So what I do is I have it on the counter and I keep it full of water and then I have to pour the water into a large mug that I have with ice cubes that I use from this dispenser and then I fill up another picture of the Spencer water. And that's too much to do. It's a pain I'd rather have the water pitcher where I can just keep it in the refrigerator and it would be more convenient and conducive for my way of living. But thanks for letting me know that I'm not the only one who's going to have a difficult time getting the reservoir out.
