@@NovatoEx Basically an archtype Rank 4 turbo Beatdown deck which can OTK at T2 but runs bricks so dedicated Normal Monster Special Summoning cards like Unexpected Dai or that Magikey Xyz Monster for more consistency to search its Normal Monster is needed for this deck.

Sure you can just play it like udf turbo, but the ships have cool effects that give you cards, suship Shari red may be one of the singular best cards in any archetype in a vacuum, there's a lot of cool lines with the magikey rank 4 and all the search power the deck has
Honestly, most games will end with utopid double, but the deck has a lot of cool tools, and it's way more fun than a lot of the stuff he showcased on his channel. There's cool techs with mathmech and bahamut shark (rip) and zoodiac and the deck is very f2p friendly too
Plus the art and theme are very funny and it's a fun deck to play with and against
I honestly don't know why he said it was boring and I really don't know why he thinks it's just udf turbo. If he meant utopia double turbo that would make more sense but it's still nowhere near the only thing you can do with suship

Hitting Fountain really doesn't do anything though when every Runick spell says "Add Runick Fountain from Deck to Hand".
@@amethonys2798 It doesn’t do *enough* perhaps, but I play a couple Cosmic Cyclones in addition to Duster, so a Fountain at 1 being Banished would have a more-than-momentary impact on the Runick player.

@@bismarckimperia8781 You don't need BO3 to make Protos broken. Just blindly call DARK and it will kill most of playable decks in BO1 Master Duel. Especially there are a lot of casual player who use Non-META but DARK cards like Dragonmaid, Unchained, Zombies.
@@renaldyhaen idk about you but I can count the number of times Protos call dark actually shut down my opponent randomly on one hand. Usually when I do it they're playing some pure earth archetype or some shit lol

Some people keep complaining that the problem with runick is the "Floodgate variant", but they don't realize the main problem that makes everyone hate it is to see your opponent had a infinite turn drawing like hell then passing and killing you slowly, i love coder videos but i need to agree that his version of the deck is actually much more boring to see than the regular one, cause it's basically all the runick ability to draw a bunch of cards for five minutes + engine boring combos that makes you get a plus and ends with a board with generic monster negations and interactions.
Reasons why most persons say the floodgate version is because Dkayed usually say it, so all of them just say it to always agree with him. I was in a discussion with a person saying pure runick is fine but "floodgate runick is bad," Lol I mean... what's the difference
@@travisdinham6084 I kind of agree with that sentiment though. Runick feels bad to go against no matter what, having your deck killed into the banish zone is never fun, but it's much less oppressive than the floodgate variant where it aims to do the same thing, but also tries lock you out of playing, and any potential outs you might draw could just get banished by the Runick stuff.
I really do not comprehend the Branded hate. I really don’t. You draw 20 cards and set up negates while holding onto an entire library of spells, it is somehow based and fair. But you fight the funny dragon deck whose strongest play is one purple boy with a banish and a clown dragon that makes you pay taxes and all of a sudden that deck is crazy OP? Half of the video is just drawing more spells and setting up a pop and negates against 2 dragons that could no longer do anything with their effects. Swordsoul is infinitely more powerful and Runick is definitely more annoying than Fallen of Super Poly

Personally I feel like people mad at Runick are more mad at the way it's played by stuffing it with floodgates than the Archetype itself which doesn't feel particularly, like, fair, and definitely isn't a good reason to hit the actual runick cards, but the Branded hate will also always confuse me beyond people not liking it because it's popular. Branded and Swordsoul are frankly 2 of the fairest and least oppressive Tier 1 decks Yugioh has had in a long time. (Protoss excepted, Konami pls ban that card)
@@serenahaugland350 Agreed. Pure Runick is trash, its the floodgates that make it unbearable. Branded is strong but it is incredibly easy to halt. Swordsoul has so much gas but lacks any real protection. I can’t wait for Tear to arrive so people have something to actually riot about.

unless you are playing 1 of every runick card just to crossout them against your opponent im not going to count it as based runick
there is no based version of runick. I would rather play against Mystic Mine than any deck that uses Runick as an engine. Drawing 1 or more cards every turn while getting cards in my deck banished doesn't sound fun no matter the sauce you add to it.
If the field spell only allowed a limited amount from hand, I could understand. But... This?

Some Yu-Gi-Oh players I tell you. They will literally hate any decks that's unconventional or niche unless it's combo decks. Or in their word, "based" decks. Nothing is "based" about Branded when you literally have a better FD at 3 while being able to loop AND search it.
Just be honest and say that you hate unique playstyles and different wincons instead of trying to cover it with "drawing x+ cards is bad because reasons".
@@hafizyb bro, it's not just the draws. it literally banishes your deck while disrupting your plays and every card in the archetype can turn into destruction protection for the field spell so you have to play bad cards to get rid of it.
you can't compare the Draw 1 from Albion the Shrouded dragon that can only happen during your turn and doesn't interrupt the opponent in any way. You also can't get to it every single turn and is only searchable if you have lost or banish Mercurier. esspeically when Branded doesn't replenish it's hand every turn. they are not the same.

@@hafizyb you can activate MULTIPLE quick plays from your hand with the Field Spell during either turn and you can quite literally plus off of activating them during your opponent's turn while eating away at your opponent's deck WHILE limiting your own deck out and... Gaining life points is just a bit of salt in the wound
People hating on branded is pretty dumb to me, antispell fragrance instantly kills it as does ash on the branded fusion and standard hands gets you a mirror jade and a masquerade or 2, da fuck is so unfair about that

Ash Blossom is the reason dumb things like Runick Fountain have a "soft" once per turn. Getting that thing negated would be the end of the game half the time if they couldn't just plop down another one. Most older decks don't have that luxury though and their turn is dead as soon as their first attempt to search or dump something is interrupted.

Mirrorjade is broken. Fusion summoning form the deck is broken. Edo lock is broken. Branded in red is broken. Etc...
@@Ragnarok540 Mirrorjade is not broken. Its a really good card but its far and away from 'broken'. It is a single banish every two turns card that requires both a Branded in Red and a Ad Libitum to pull off the soft reset trick, and to summon it requires work that can be easily stopped with a single Ash Blossom or punished with Maxx C. Fusion summoning from the deck is not broken, its the only truly consistent way to perform the summon at all, not to mention it's stopped by Ash Blossom, the single most common card in the entire meta. Edo lock is cringe but not every Branded players uses it, I've literally only ran into it once. Branded in Red is not broken either, it's used to facilitate 1 or 2 plays and then becomes irrelevant. You wanna talk broken? Let's talk about the decks that literally stop you from playing the game unless you have Harpies Feather Duster (and praying they dont have a fucking Hugin). Let's talks about the Field Spell that after you mill your opponent for half their deck you can go +3. Let's talk about the banish deck that negates and banishes your first moves and every banish burns you for 1200 before hitting you upside the head with a beatstick that at this point is over 4k while all your monsters are going minus. But no no, the fucking purple dragon deck is broken.

Though, Mirrorjade might be annoying interruption that allows your opponent to go plus and its field wipe may be a non-trivial threat but is it really that difficult to work around?

@@xCorvus7x The plus from Mirrorjade is virtually pointless because of the cost to create that plus. If youre going first you need to banish your own card and use up your own banish to even use the plus, not to mention you must also dump an Albion, because thats how the plus actually functions. Blaming Mirrorjade for its hand in triggering Edolock is simply incorrect because Edolock isnt caused directly by the summoning of Mirrorjade at all, Mirrorjade is just a preferred part of the combo. Thus it shouldnt be held responsible as the facilitator of Edolock. The only card to blame for Edolock is Edo itself.

Branded is literally a balanced deck as far as meta decks go. its not a 10+ card negate bullshit. it doesnt banish half ur deck and extra deck and lock all 5 spell or trap zones by the start of turn 2 (looking at you kashtira) it doesnt have the bs that is tearlament ishizu. it doesnt have floodgates like swordsoul. or towers. Or degenerate spright cheating naturias out the extra deck.
I’ll say it. Runick by itself isn’t cringe, but Runick with FLOODGATES? Yeah for sure.

When I first got back into the game in December I was so shocked to see everything was different from legacy of the duelist 😢 I had a good run with zombie burning abyss until I hit gold tier, everything was 5 min first turn Omni negates, how is that fun? Then I ran into runicks and it was love/hate at first sight. Yugioh 5 ds on the Xbox suddenly popped into my brain and had me reminiscing about my macro stun deck, tried it but it was way too slow to compete with today’s meta, so I joined the dark side and now I’m just doing my best to build the best version of a runick stun deck since psyframe omega is limited to 1 and everything else seems too meta/cringe for my liking. My main rivals are swordsouls and despia players since I built my runick deck especially for them. I try to upload every day for lulz and to give hope to other Runicks out there, you are not alone 🖤

The dumb thing is that in constructed Runick cycling your field spell to keep drawing isn't even that good. You'd rather keep your extra copies in hand than use more resources to recover them later.
But no it's rewarded in a floodgate variant because you not only draw more stuff to just win the game but you also just keeping banishing just for the sake of it, which isn't a viable strat in the OCG/TCG, but in MD where pretty much every deck has a limit/semi; it's pretty much like just wait and watch in case they don't banish all your outs
Runick fountain either needs an errata to be hard once per turn, or limited to 1

I feel like yugioh needs a cost system somehow. Everything is either free and you get combo to death or everything is floodgates and negates. Yugioh is becoming less interactive every year. It's 2 turns of using their deck as a hand into sudden death or its 2 turns of nothing because of the floodgates.

when i saw branded on a field of 2 dark magician vs 7 cards in hand runic i realized the only reason why combo runic can exist is because yugioh is all about bullying your opponent into submission. unlike other tcg in yugioh you can win within a singular battle phase and it is expected so taking of 1 turn of negating everything your opponent and their children have can be done with low risk unlike when you would need to do that like 8 times to win

@@esrohm6460 i mean there is a reason why even though tearlement is tier 0, people still like the format. People yearn for interaction. Branded is a good example of that even though the cards are really broken they mostly encourage interaction.
