Researching to fix a family member door handle here in the near future and your video was the first one up. Thank you for the informative walk through tutorial of the how to.
Yeah the older the cars get the more brittle the plastic gets. Luckily Toyotas are pretty durable and they don’t purposely hide fasteners where you’ll destroy the panel to get it apart. Thanks for watching Jerry
I have a 2004 Tacoma. The door handles were braking every couple of years. I started strengthening them with ABS cement prior to putting them in. I've also pop riveted in metal brackets. I don't care what they look like, I'm tired of replacing them. The tailgate latches on my Tacoma and my 2006 Tundra also have had to be replaced twice in 7 years. I question the quality of the Amazon replacement handles because they break so often. I've had a problem where the key didn't work after I had put everything back together. I didn't check installation first. Thanks for this video everything helps.
Man i haven’t heard of duramix 4040 in a while! Do you have an old tube lying around? I didn’t think they made it anymore since 3m bought duramix. I remember doing flame treatments to get it to stick!
I’m showing my age. Since 3M bought them, it’s the same product under a different name but I still call it 4040. It worked pretty good until it didn’t. Good to hear from you Mr. Grim
Sometimes the holes are covered by a small piece of transparent vinyl but the 2 holes should be easy to locate as in the video. Using a 10 mm socket on an extension you can remove the bolts. Get a flashlight inside the door to help locate them. Hope this helps.

Yeah I figure this cheap handle will break in a few years. Sounds like replacing handles keeps you busy with all those Toyotas. Thanks for watching
@@autobodytrainingsolutions838 Our 1992 Chevy C10 has never had a door handle problem.

This is extremely complicated. I’m following the whole process until 4:45 .. where is that hole? I have no idea what he’s even doing here.

sometimes a grommet at eye level with the bolt for the handle
Door hand I always don’t like. Break so easy and too much plastic. Why not use door knob?
I’ll check with R&D
very similar to a Honda
