Bar Chýše looks decent. Only thing putting me off is it looks ages away on public transport from the city centre. Don't fancy the trip back to the city centre after a few wets 😉
Great selection. I would add the following to your list: První Pivní Tramway, Kulovy blesk, Andělský pivovar, Pivovar u Bulovky, Pivovar U Medvídků, Pivovar Strahov, Břevnovský Klášterní Pivovar, Diego pivní bar...for Pilsner Urquell: U Hrocha, U Veverky, U Pinkasů (1st Pilsner place in Prague), U Glaubiců (the cheapest Pilsner in Prague)
Thanks for a great video - I have been to the first four places in your list and they are all great drinking places. Vinohradsky pivovar is my favorite. My personal favorite places in Prague is U Rudolfina - Urquell tank beer place close to Charles bridge
Ive been to a lot of these places, and have planned to go to others but havent yet (Next trip!!). I was last in Prague in July 2022 and U Vodoucha had permanently closed! Id originally stumbled across it in Nov 2021, and had last been there in Feb '22 and couldnt get a table, it was so busy, so was gutted and surprised. Managed to get to the 2 Cocks, which is awesome too. Id personally, & highly, recommend Vrátnice, which is close by, 5 mins or so walk near the tunnel under Vitkov; Its a great wee craft beer joint full of locals and regulars. Great place. Next door to the Red Deer is a place with Budvar on tap; PULT, which I'd strongly recommend too. Never turn down a Budvar on tap, which is seemingly an endangered species in Prague, so dominant is Urquell. In saying that, Pivovar U Medvídků has Budvar on tap too so thats another great spot. Nearby is U Fleků, whose dark beer is a thing of beauty. Massive location that, possibly a bit touristy but that beer is worth it. Dno Pytle in Vinohrady is a craft beer dive bar I'm a bit fan of as well. I think its a proper locals joint and probably unlikely to ever be full of tourists too. If you like wings and craft beer, the Beer Geek bar opposite the big modern church in Vinohrady is also great. Vinohradsky Pivovar is bloody awesome, and kind of opposite there is another place called Pivoteka Pivo a Párek, who also brew there own beers. (There may be more than one location too.) Lastly, as ive prattled on way too much now, I stayed right opposite the Pivní Rozmanitost craft beer shop and pub. Very much out of the centre. Worth it if you're nearby. Those are some of my suggestions. Thanks for your tips Paul. jez
Hi Paul! What a nice little video about good pubs in Prague, love it! I was wondering if you know where you could get unfiltered and unpasteurised Pilsner Urquell on tap in Prague? My little pub gem is U Hrocha,it was genuinely love at first sight. All the best!
u get unfiltered urquell all year around at Senk Na Parkanu in Pilsen. apart from that I thin the brewery ship barrels of this beer to selected places during festivals. ask the brewery. personally I did not like the unfiltered variant.
I m in Prague now and I have been more than 12 times already ( I am Argentine but I live in Berlin. ) I agree 100% with all you say. I know almost all of them and because of you I am now staying at vrosovice and I love it . Tonight I ll go to Vesna;) thanks for your info. I do suggest one pub , U Tunnel in karlin district. Right next to the tunnel that connects karlin with zizkov . One more time thanks for everything You do
Loved Červeny Jelen. Went there several times. And the food is killer. Lokal (near Hotel Haštal) was also rockin'. Malostranská Beseda also has solid beer and one of the best guláš.
As a tourist from the UK I always find myself in U Svateho Filipa a Jakuba near Arbesovo Namesti. When I first went in 2004 it was a real locals pub with grizzled old guys playing weird card games (for money probably). It has been tarted up since then and appears to be promoted to be more of a restaurant that serves beer, although when I was last there in 2018 it still had the laid back atmosphere and old school feel about it.
You've got great taste in pubs. I'd add Kulovy Blesk (haven't been to their new location yet) and U Rotundy to experience a pub where time has stood still.
I believe you missed two of the best pubs. Generally I agree with your election, though listing some new (Dva kohouti, Chýše and Vesna) while leaving U Banshetů and U Hrocha hurt my local feelings. :D U Bashetů is a pub with arguably the best Pilnser taping and serving. (Well, while writing this, I realised I do not want anybody to wisit the pub, because, it uses to be overcrowded already and it takes more and more to reserve your table to play tradicional card game Mariáš. The second pub is U Hrocha. Located at a very city center, it is a little hidden gem, the fun staff there is that whenever you enter, you meet some 75+ year old štamgast (habitue), that makes you talk and presents all the old times - which really is a unbelievable personal growth oportunity. Apart from the enviroment, which is unrepetable, the beer is suberb. The only thing is that they do not cook. So in case you enjoy a pub the czech way (ordering 8+ beers) it is a little annoying. (One last thing... I forgot to mention while talking about U Basnetů... This pub is arguably (in my opinion no argue about that) the BEST local cuisine for good price in Prague (and nearbye). They really do prepare the food a Czech as me, who loves cooking local stuff, would prepare his own dish. But as I said... both are TOP 10 Prague pubs, but I strongly DO NOT recomend to visit them, as I want them to be the way they are. :)
"U Bashetů is a pub with arguably the best Pilsner taping and serving" strong words ..:-) there are many very good Urquell places in Prague - U Rudolfina is one of my favorites. Do U Hrocha have tank beer?
Tankovna chain is also very good, Potrefená Husa chain is also very good… Dva Kohouti definitelly not - overpriced , really digusting been (good for turists), thanks God that Žižkov has been gentrified (due to HUGE investment into renovation of squares, roads and side walks) - especially so calld "Lower Žižkov" - there is a new very small burger place with best burgers in Prague called Mad Burger
When Vaclav Havel was PM of a united Czech Rep and Slovakia, his private police would throw everyone out of The Golden Tiger around 5 pm most days for meetings. 1991, so long ago now.
Golden Tiger is fantastic, however, I don't think they serve tank Pilsner. The beer is probably the best pilsner served in the city. I was reading a Pilsner Urquel book about all the pilsner pubs and it stated the Golden Tiger served from the barrel.
you get a small glass of it after a tour at the brewery. can't remember if it was possible to buy it in the brewery. there is one pub in Pilsen that has it all year around - Senk Na Parkanu. for me the unfiltered version was not good.

Hi Paul some good tips there. For me I like U Černého vola for Kozel and Jelínkova plzeňská pivnice for Pilsner Urquell.
👍🏼🍻🇨🇿
I’ll be moving to Prague later this year to study for about 3 years but I don’t drink beer. Any advice on how to socialize.
Brazilians hate drinking beer without tapas. Can you make a video about the best pubs with a long list of tapas to eat along with beer?
is it easy to go out as a 16/17 yo there or do they check id’s often?
Hi. Where would you recommend going on Christmas Day for good food and atmosphere?
Lokal!
