Vlad Dascaliuc oh, just timestamps, the things I correlated with the mood of the music at those times, and the places/characters they connect to. I randomly got inspiration to do it after listening to it once or twice
Hollow Knight had a soundtrack that made me feel things. It was never there to pump me up and even during the epic scores I always felt an undertone of hopelessness like they were fighting against a force that wouldn’t stop no matter how much they cut down and the more somber songs legit nearly make me cry because they sound that much more sad.
This rendition of Christopher Larkin's already beautiful soundtrack is amazing. This arrangement brings a whole new sense of magic and beauty that wasn't there in the original pieces (which I found especially in Hornet, Mantis Lords, White Palace, Sealed Vessel, Radiance, and the Main Theme). The excellent transitions along with the triumphant, adventurous mood this portrayed brought a smile to my face multiple times. Well done. Well done indeed. This will definitely not be the last time I listen to this. Keep up the good work!
@@nyxshadowhawk Christopher Larkin, when composing the soundtrack, just made a lot of different types of tracks. Some only had one instrument, or focused on one. To have pieces like "Mantis Lords" focus on something other than just the Harpsichord in an orchestral score is majorly different to me.

@@rakh3942 Yeah, they were but the timing is hilarious I like to imagine them shouting over the music about saxophone while the Radiance theme is blaring over them
I feel like this ost was meant to flow smoothly between songs, to be able to transition between areas and bosses in this world of Hallownest. But this beautiful orchestral suite blends them together to make a perfect song.
Very beautifully done--there is such a wide variety of time signatures and key changes throughout the Hollow Knight soundtrack that would make combining all these themes a giant headache... I can see a lot of that in the stopping and starting points between what can almost be considered different movements in your work. You did a superb job of merging and transitioning between themes that were similar, and you definitely captured the range of emotions that Hollow Knight evokes. A lot of people might criticize you for having what might be considered a lackluster ending, but those that have played the game know and can feel the emotional ties to ending on that stunning, haunting solo piano, and how it alludes back to the player's lonely journey through the Hallownest. Fantastic job, you've got a standing ovation from me~
The city of tears theme. What a fantastic moment. Sharing a bench with quirrel. You barely understood the story, but now there you are thrust into the middle of it. Beautiful ambiance, tons of new things to explore. My favorite zone by far.
I, as a violist, am absolutely in love with the use of the viola voice throughout this arrangement. A lot of composers would have looked straight to the cello or violin for a lot of sections, but I think the sections where the viola is a prevalent voice really give it a unique, rich sound, and I'm so, so glad to hear it. Much love for this rendition of the sounds from one of my fav games!
This is actually fantastic, the best remixes of Hollow Knight's amazing soundtrack I have ever heard. The transitions are perfect, it is powerful, glorious, and emotional all at once. I tip my hat to you because this is amazing.
Chills down my spine the whole way. This OST is already so emotional, and your rendition of it brought tears to my eyes. I would do anything to listen to an orchestra playing this. Thank you so much !
This BGM, seriously. Last time I have felt this nostalgic was when I listened to Zelda's 25th Anniversary Symphony with Skyward Sword's release. It was a memory rush that reached the very core of my childhood. But now this. Truly, I have just realized how intense this game was, and how it made me feel elated with the ambience created within all levels, and how the music was always a masterpiece to be savoured apart. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul for arranging this score, and bringing back some good memories of now an adult that could feel again like a kid, even if it was for just 21 minutes. Cheers. ps.: the 'Resting Grounds - White Lady - White Palace' interlude was something out of this world. Goosebumps all over. Nobuo Uematsu would certainly feel astonished with that.

The whole section from path of pain until the radiance gets me so. Emotional. It just pulls at my heart... I want to cry, but it's never enough for me to fully cry at its heartbreaking energy.
I've just got into Hollow Knight myself and been playing it for 2 months or so. One of the biggest things which drew me to it was definitely the incredible music, and this arrangement certainly does it justice! Edit: Just noticed you put Dung Defender in bars of 7/8 and 9/8 instead of just in 8/8 or 4/4... that's some preciseness right there
My Grandpa died about 4 months ago now and he used to take me to university every single day and then drop me off at home again. I got Hollow Knight and I played it everyday in the car with him and this brought tears to my eyes. It brought back a flood of memories and I actually cried because I had put those memories away but your orchestral cover made it all come back. The music in the game is just absolutely amazing. Christopher Larkin did such a fabulous job of constructing a score with leitmotifs.
