a first! An actual video that doesn't assume the viewer knows anything and a close-up of the unit while showing moves, I just wish we spoke the same language then I could have understood you perfectly without a need to use a translator, I live in Midwest USA.
This is a good intro/overview video for a beginner. Some items on the menu that were skipped over could have used a brief look/see, but overall, this info is exactly what I needed. Thanks!
Thanks for this user guide on the Viofo A129. Very helpful. I have the A119 until now and am thinking of trying to connect that to a powerbank and use it at home with a short time lapse. Have a great day. 😀
Hello I have had my dash cam for 2 year I had to replace micro card in it , before when I was driving my cam was always on now its a black screen the red light so its working ok but I like to see it in the cam screen while driving can you tell me how to set it up that way please . Thank you.
I have the Viofo A129 Pro Duo. How do I set the Buffered Parking Mode in settings? Will I be able to preview this impact clip with the before and after moments as a designated separate file on the SD card on my computer? How will it be labeled on the SD card?: "Buffered Parking Mode Event"? "G-Sensor Event"? "Impact Event"? "Auto Detection Event"?
Fantastic video mate thank you so much. Do you know what setting I can change 24hr mode to 12 hrs and also do you know what time zone is central time zone for United state
12:35 - Other reviewers seem to be choosing to change the 'firmware' from 1.1, to 1.5 via the VioFo website . . . . . is there a reason, and is there a reason why you didn't ? Thanks - Great upload BTW
I tried to connect camera to PC with original black cable, but I couldn't do it, there is notthing pop up on my PC. My camera mode is a129 plus A129PLUS2201733, I am wondering is that not able to connect straight to PC by that way? have to be take the small sd card out then user different card reader to read the data with this mode?
Wondering if you have ever had an issue with the dash cam where it says must format on screen. I put in a new SD card and can't get to the menu files. Screen says microSD Reader Mode. Not sure what's going on and help would be appreciated.
What's the difference with Motion detection and auto parking record? In my understanding, they do the same thing but maybe Motion Detection does something more that Parking Mode auto-detect doesn't?
I notcied that once you setup wifi, the menu button on the left of the fron camera no longer goes to the menu is there any way to fix that?!it’s kinda annoying not being able to access the menu anymore
I installed a new A119, with parking mode connections. And I noticed when I leave the motion detection mode the camera recording, and after a few hours, when I start the engine and drive the camera still stays in motion detection mode, and does not automatically switch to normal driving mode, why is that?
I was a little confused on the parking mode, do u turn on your parking mode to your 3 to 5 frames everytime you park or just leave it in parking mode all the time?? Thanks
If your A129 is correctly hardwired using the Viofo 3-wire hardwire kit then you leave it in Parking Mode the whole time and it will switch between parking mode and normal drive mode as you start or stop your ignition automatically. If you do have the correct hardwire kit then you will need to switch it on and off manually every single time.
if I don’t have the correct wiring kit won’t it just shut off when the car is off, and it is hardwired in just not with the special hardwire kit. Thanks
Your finger pressing the side of the camera is not seen at the start of your presentation. I noticed it later. You should demonstrate this clearly as not everyone is so familiar with the technology. I also did not see you explaining how to start the motion sensor detection... I need to say that the A129 user manual little brochure from the producer is not helpful as it does not clearly say how to find the motion detection. Thank you anyway for taking time to explain about the item.
I just had one of these for an hour and sent it back to Amazon. I wanted a plug and play camera and this was way too much. It was always on, you had to push too many buttons to get into the camera to access the menu, it didn't always want to let you in. The menu was deep and frustrating to access using the buttons given. On top of everything, I didn't want to disassemble my new Honda CR-V or have to pay someone $200 to install the rear camera. It wasn't for me, but could be what you want. I just want something that will record while I'm driving and maybe 3 years down the road have a video of an accident I might be in that I can look at and show that I wasn't at fault. I may never even need it until that happens. All these other features are useless until that day. I need something way simpler than this, starting with a menu button, not a stop recording button and then quickly hit the hamburger button and the menu might appear, because mine wouldn't most of the time. That's when I boxed it up and sent it back.
Maximum capacity card for this model is 256GB. We recomend Samsung EVO Plus or Samsung PRO Endurnace . Both will be fine but the PRO should last longer.
I think the screen saver setting will apply equally to driving mode and to parking mode. You can't have screen stay on continuously while driving but turn off during parking.
The Boot delay basically is only an advantage for cameras that are hard wired, and only on certain vehicles. It may also depend on the particular fuse and/or circuit you hardwire to. On some vehicles , because of on board diagnostics which occur on startup, it may mess with th the start up of your camera. Your cam may start stop on start up and may not go into record mode on start up because of your vehicles start up procedure. If this is an issue then you can enable the boot delay to ensure you cam will start up and start recording as it should. This is dependent on the brand and type of car you have. Comes down to trial an error.
Could be a faulty Micro SD card. Try a different card and do a reset using the pinhole button on the side of the cam. If that does not work go to the viofo.com global website, download the latset firmware and reload your firmware.
@@chrishunt2705I did the reset which fixed the issue but now the rear camera freezes the front camera when I plug it in. I put in a support ticket at viofo.com thanks for the reply
@@Giveitallyougot unplug the rear cam cable at the front camera end. If the front camera works fine without the rear cam plugged in then you have a faulty rear camera or a faulty video cable.
Viofo dash cam is last sh*t - I had two and both are defect after no a year (one after 6 month). Front camera doesn't work, rear camera records only in black/white, no upgrade is possible... For such one poor quality it's too expensive, actually it's a no go for anywhere priced products. Especially there is no support from Viofo team! This is the best operation video I've seen on this camera, the book that come with the camera leave's a lot out of the operation instructions. Thanks
Thanks Chris for your help. Video is very useful. My A129 has arrived the next day. Thanks for the great Aussie service!
Great video, thanks for teaching and not just assuming I knew how to do the task.
Never would have discovered how to engauge menu button. Thanks!
Me too. The little instruction manual is not that helpful. Or maybe I'm just getting old.

When you're in wi-fi mode you need to connect your phone to the camera and use the app to view the menu.

What is meant by "time-lapse recording" on the menu ?
Time lapse recording while driving. Different from parking mode. It will take fewer frames per second to reduce file size.
