    Your self and Josh of Keep Smiling Adventures inspired my first two day ride from the Midlands to Newcastle, fortunately I had a hotel booked, unfortunately they had no food, fortunately I was close to the Wetherby Whaler Chippy 😀 Next up for me C2C in a day!

    Well I really enjoyed both of these videos Andy, absolutely fantastic to be honest. Welsh cakes need butter! I recognised the roads in the North Wessex Downs, my backyard. You did Combe Gibbet but not the top 100 climbs route (probably for the best, that's a steep one) but really nice to see it in your video briefly. I hope one day to have the mental fortitude to do something like this, truly an adventure.

    Epic 2 videos Andy, I hate the cold so I wouldn’t want to be getting out a sleeping bag either 😀. Sound of the birds early morning in the video was probably nice to wake up to. Hopefully you make the planning video as I’ve often wondered how you pick a route (I’m struggling with route planning at the moment for some train and ride back type routes).

      Thankyou bud, giving up is never an option 😀 I am planning tubeless actually, I think 32mm. But after all points north, ready for TCR gravel parcours

    • @chrisjoyce5539
      @chrisjoyce5539 4 месяца назад

      @@andycultracycling I started with 30mm but I run 28mm. I only cycling a couple of years, brought a new giant TCR you should have seen at shop when I brought the bike home after a fitting. When chap in shop told me it tubeless set up. I nearly had a melt down in shop. So next half hour went through it all, I never looked back. I only road riding. 😁👌

  • @Jaqaroo
    @Jaqaroo 4 месяца назад +1

    That was great Andy! It looked tough, but satisfying. Having aches and pains on the bike, and especially a stomach bug, that's all you can think about - glad the stomach got better on the second day and you could enjoy that great ride home. Some really nice descents and one cheeky passing shot!
    So, how does this trip relate to the Transcontinental? The TCR could be like 6 or 7 of these back to back...! Is the pacing different?

    • @andycultracycling
      @andycultracycling  4 месяца назад +1

      So yeah TCR is roughly 8 of these in a row, hopefully without the stomach issues! The spacing will be different, just a different mindset altogether really. Pace may be similar, but I'll be in race mode so full of adrenaline etc at the start, it'll flow differently. But I expect the time riding/sleeping may be similar actually, I'll probably stop for 5-6 hrs for TCR each night, unlike all points north which will be about 4 hrs a night as its a shorter race at 1000km
