Happy for her. Go Ducks! (i'm a duck myself). I remember in the past when she didn't make teams she would get right back out there running at hole in the wall european track meets, flying all over the world, just grinding. She won my respect when I saw her do that. She's always had the talent and now it's all coming together. Good Luck in Paris Alaysha!

She deserves everything she’s been afforded the opportunities!!! Her grind and hustle is unmatched! She doesn’t look like what she’s been going through!

I’ve been rooting for Lay Lay since Day 1. This is what confidence and self belief looks like. She’s a great role model for the younger generation with regards to resilience and perseverance.

I'm curious. Who is the everybody who doesn't think that she deserves a spot in the sport? Alaysha if you see this, please feel free to respond.

Bro! I just posted a comment asking the same thing. She living her dream and talking about whatever few "haters" she has. There are a few times she lost when she should have placed higher but that's how sports goes.

Who in the world felt like you did not belong??! You have a pretty solid fan base. There are times where I think you dropped the ball but you still had supporters. It's sports, it happens where everything doesn't work out like you want. How do you mention the very few "haters" and not mention the love you got. Furthermore, in the interview you had with Luis right after the race you said you do this for the hood babies. Well, my kids aren't "hood babies" and they support you big time. They aren't impoverished either.. You are one of the best hurdlers in history competing in the Golden years of hurdling, quit with that hater talk. You more famous than other hurdlers who have beat you in the past

Big props and congrats to Alaysha for making the team but I was confused by the interview, as well. She stated she wanted to represent for people who looked like her. Ummmm, just think about that for a second. Is she, or her story, that much different from every sprint athlete who worked hard for years to qualify for the Olympics last week? She felt disrespected but by who? In favor of World and American record holders and multiple WC and Oly medalists? Everyone needs to find their own motivation, I guess, but she is far from the victim she sees herself as....
