But I wouldn't really judge a person for the position they're born into, to some extent I actually feel sorry for them, they quite often are a bit clueless in life. It's the system that's at fault in my opinion, the rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer.
Izzy is a natural and beginning to learn about cars with very knowledgeable mechanics giving her the knowledge she’ll need to progress even further. Really enjoyed her enthusiasm and the patience her instructors were giving her. Well Done!!
Seeing Izzy embrace all these different aspects to the driving world is as always great. This is another reason to teach the younger generation on older cars

Just a reminder for anyone in the field and at home. Tie back any loose clothing and or hair! Especially with mechanical spinning bits, hair and loose clothing can get caught on tools and or engine parts.
We love Izzy. She's great! A bit late now, but it isn't recommended to flush an old engine unless you know for sure it had regular flushes in the past.
I happen to have a silver Volvo V50 pre-facelift much like the one that's been in the background of many Cog videos, and it always confuses me because they are such critically unpopular cars (not as much power in the top trims, kind of small) that every time I see it I think it's mine. I've basically only ever seen four other ones on the road.
She definitely can't work on my car next if she thinks a service consists of just adding engine flush, some oil and an additive. Poor job if you ask me, or was it poor instruction. What about draining the old oil, new oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, and everything else that needs doing on a service.

I just realized that that rover has identical suspension to the 5th gen Honda accord. After doing some research I found that they in fact used the suspension and chassis from a Honda accord. Very interesting
well done Izzy. but my first throught was the guy showing her was a bit out of order setting the car on the lift to his height and leaving her to struggle streching so much to reach when he could have just bent his legs. tut tut tut where has the gentlemen of the world gone
We redid my the seats and door cards in my wife's car in MacLean Hunting tartan. Also did the lining of some custom bags. I think we might just have enough left to do a shift boot. Good idea.

The Rover is starting to look awesome. I wasn't expecting that. Izzy Hammond is great because she's still new to the car world. I always appreciate the eyes of people just getting into the scene because they still maintain an excitement and curiosity. People who know a bunch about cars tend to just be flat out nerds who can be a bit boring (I'm including myself in that group).
Oh my god, I love me some white wheels. I painted the wheels on a 1994 Honda Transalp 600V and my mechanic friend hated me for it. I adored how they looked.
It is my opinion that the introduction of Izzy has saved your channel. Her unique “newness” to our hobby, willingness to learn, and natural beauty are a fresh perspective that many channels, (including my own), are missing. The Rover, on the other hand, isn’t. The purple hoses look like lipstick on a pig! Perhaps a more Blurple, (watch the original TG:USA if you don’t remember), would have matched more? As well as a general cut and polish of the engine bay aluminum and repaint of the engine bay itself.
Similar vibe. A bit of luxury and performance, but not top dollar. They were in the same area as Alfa and Saabs of that era. Not quite full on premium stuff like Mercedes or Jaguar, but a step above the Fords and VWs of the world.
Maybe get her on a tractor at Clarkson’s farm. There are many female farmers who love driving their tractor, combine, big truck/lorry etc. [Ag With Emma] and [Kate’s Ag] [Laura Farms] are all awesome.

My old boss would be rolling in his grave after watching this, he had a problem calling newbies 'Mechanics' they are part fitters he would say only experience gets you that title. (He was a RollsRoyce Mechanic for 35 years) I recommend Izzy attend a basic course on vehicle repair and maintainance. I'm sure the crew would help. My girls were changing oil, air and brakes etc before their 14th birthdays cause it's so important everyone knows the basic get back on the road knowledge and I think Izzy would be the perfect person the communicate that information to the next generation of young female drivers.
I didn't know how the "Izzy car journey" would go, or if I'd enjoy the content. But it has certainly been entertaining for me so far, and I've enjoyed watching mainly because I can see she actually wants to learn and enjoys it, even if from more from the presentation/ production/channel focused point of view, not just pure "car love" which is honestly the smartest way to go about being a regular face of the channel while also remaining authentic... Side note Liqui Moly engine flush is a pretty amazing product (and I've tried most of them) and has legitimately become a regular use product on all the cars I service for myself/ family/ friends... I don't have easy access to most of their bulk lubricants in my area, but have definitely seen noticeable improvements from several of their flushes/cleaners/additives that I have compared among the shelf of competitors. You can clearly tell it's not one of the several "magic snake oil" additive companies, rather a lubricant/ chemical company that has an actual engineering department and testing labs! Just mentioning that because its always refreshing to see quality brands that are actually relevant to the content/audience sponsoring quality channels.👍 I think the world has enough terrible mobile games and plenty of electric trimmers/razors already 😉

Oh, when ya do the calipers if ya don't get some freshly hi temp powder coated, use the caliper paint after appropriately masking it and BAKE IT. I see so many folks just spray and apply, and they they look like trash shortly after. And god plz make it tasteful (black/silver).

She does fill out the cover-alls nicely even if she doesn't remember how to do a full service yet.
