Completely aside from the woman, I think these videos are a really interesting exercise in how our mind perceives visuals. At 16 faces, the cloth feels very thick. Sorta like one of those soft mousepads. And as you add more and more faces, it slowly gets thinner and thinner, until eventually you get something equivalent to really cheap underwear. Yet, the thickness of the cloth isn't actually changing at all. But the way it folds causes our brains to perceive it as much thinner than it really is, because in reality, those things are inherently linked. Reminds me of a video I saw one time that went over the clothes of Goku and Naruto. If you ask anyone, they would say Goku is wearing really thin, cool clothing, while Naruto is wearing much thicker, warm clothing. But they don't believe that because they can actually see the thickness of their clothes, but because Naruto's clothes has very few, very large folds, while Goku's has a much fewer folds, but there are a lot of them.
Is anyone seeing these and slowly realizing they’re just the new slime videos? And they don’t actually explain anything about what faces mean? It could say any number of faces and we’d be like “oh ok that does that.”
