Jack Malcic Dunno about that...he ask elementary questions, offers trite observations and canned reactions. Seems like a nice guy though - and Blink 182 were bonafide Oasis fans in their day.
Noel said in a recent podcast that he's done a 180 on The Beach Boys after listening to a lot of their stuff during lockdown, he talked for a bit about how great some of their songs were. ...I wish I could tell Mark, he seemed really hurt that Noel wasn't a fan.

Well Mark, Noel and Damon Alburn were all neighbours for a while they lived on the same street in mayfair london. Mark said about it in rocksound when he was promoting the +44 record.
It takes courage to interview Noel and Liam. Those guys don't mess arround! They'll shit and piss all over you if you say something they don't like or if they just feel like it.
Hoppus still said to him "Now obviously, you talk a lot of s*** about everybody" and Noel didn't like it, but didn't retaliate. I guess he figured Mark wouldn't mess around either

Kind of humorous at the time, but as time goes on it's sad. One of em could be dead and you're not sure if the one left living will shed a tear. In other words, these two need to settle their differences. It has nothing to do with forming Oasis. If that were to be a possibility, then cool. Liam's voice is back enough that they'd rock it. It's been almost a decade since they broke up.
I think it was a fine interview, Noel is obviously a pretty serious person.....Mark did a good job getting some smiles out of him.....good vibes all round.
Thank you, these two, not just the BANDS, but THESE TWO individuals were two of the most influential musicians in my life when I picked up a guitar and both were my favorite in their respective bands
Brian Wilson doesn’t have a clue who Noel is as Oasis never made it big in America. Brian’s got more talented in his little fingernail than Noel could ever hope to have. There’s a reason Brian is nicknamed genius and Noel isn’t
Don't blame all the Americans for getting offended by the beach boys rant. It's just a kick in the teeth for Americans to accept that after the 50's right up until the early 2000's Britain owned modern music with little help from the states, the beach boys were brilliant and were only one of the US bands of the 60's to compete with the British Invasion. But then with Justin Bieber and One Direction I think it's fair to agree the US & UK teamed up and shat all over music together
Archie Mod That is nonsense, of course if you only listened to vanilla pop and rock that might be the case, but the US has always had a lot of bands and artists that were just as good as anything from the UK
Technical point: presenter said Oasis was the Second Invasion, that's actually the term for the period where bands like Duran Duran were popular in 1980s America.

Because they are celebrating their fiftieth anniversary, they have released their best album since 1971, their best single since 1985 and they are just amazing!
Well this isn't the first time Noel has said things like this? He's done that his whole career, its why people enjoy his interviews because he is very direct and honest, and also very witty. So I don't know what you were expecting honestly? Mark is a fantastic interviewer and I have seen quite a few videos of his shows. Your argument about Noel is also very ignorant and you obviously have not heard much from him at all. If Mark didn't respect Noel, he wouldn't be on his show.

my top 5 would all be from Pet Sounds. I think that that album is one of the best ever. I would recommend you listen to it from start to finish another time soon, I think you'll enjoy it a lot. The whole album has a sort of a theme to it and a feel... it's hard to describe. =)

see, that's where you're making the mistake. Oasis was not britpop. In any case most people have no idea what britpop actually is.
