Oasis have definitely become more admired by American musicians as a whole than they have by British musicians. British musicians might more often use Radiohead or The Verve or The Stone Roses as their gold standard from the last 30/40 years.
I'd say Oasis took the proverbial torch that The Stone Roses were carrying. If there really are any British musicians still finding success in that genre it would probably be the Arctic Monkeys as the most popular. They were massively influenced by Oasis. Lesser sized artists like Kasabian and Jake Bugg too.
As a yank I love British rock n roll. Beatles. Stones. Zep. The Smiths. Oasis, Pistols, Bowie...on and on and on, but the Roses? I could never quite get it. Even tried recently. “Adored”? Overrated. There’s like no verses, not that that matters, but it doesn’t do much. IDK. Long live British Rock N Roll.

If Noel hadn't had the lens to direct his songs he would have been a semi successful songwriter. Inversely without Noel, Liam woulda been a memorable singer. It would not have been this force nature we call Oasis. One needed the other unquestionably.
Yes, written by Noel, he owns them. He did everything. He composed the music, created the melodies and made backing tracks for each musician and showed them, literally, "It goes like this". He wrote all the lyrics and sat with the producer and engineer while making the albums white the other guys goofed off until Noel called them in for their bits. That is why Noel owns them, he is the only one who receives the publishing royalties and Liam can not perform them without Noel's permission and if Noel does give Liam permission, Liam has to pay Noel for singing HIS songs.

Liam and Noel may not like this, but they both remind me of John Lydon. Just in the way that they are both straight forward, with zero bullshit. They don't answer questions the way they think you want, they answer honestly. That's what makes a true rock star in my opinion. Rock isn't about "right" answers; it's about saying what you've got to say in the most direct, honest way you can. No one does this better than Lydon, Liam, and Noel.

@@CodeBleu724 i could see a lineup of liam noel (obviously) bonehead since hes played with liam alot recently probably chris sharrock as a drummer coz he has played with liam during the end of oasis and during beady eye and has also played well with noel since oasis split and then andy bell or someone else on bass
