The weather was cold this morning. Our province here in the Philippines is under signal #1 due to Tropical Storm Auring. My hair stood at its end while I was riding on a van bound for my work station which takes 3 hours to get there. Opening my bag, I got my headset and scanned my music list. I came across to my "Best country music" and at 19 min, I heard the chorus. I didn't know the title of the song. I just wrote few of the lyrics. All these really old songs from my childhood just remind me of the love my parents had. They are divorced now(when I was 16, I'm 21 now) and I hate my dad with my mom on thin ice for all the pain they've caused me. All these really old songs from my childhood just remind me of the love my parents had. They are divorced now(when I was 16, I'm 21 now) and I hate my dad with my mom on thin ice for all the pain they've caused me. But these make me cry remembering them slow dancing together and my little 5 year old self running up and wanting to dance with them and my mom would pick me up and hold me with one arm with the other around my dad as we danced as a family. It was so long ago and I don't remember my childhood very well because of their abuse but these old country songs and what I remember from when they we're good people makes me cry every time.
This was my parents song. 25 years into their marriage they danced to this. I never understood. My dad died. My dad's birthday was may 24 and my moms the 20th. When my finance and I met he played this on the guitar for me with no idea. His birthday was may 22. Right in between their birthdays playing their song. I now understand the love they had with my own soulmate and we plan to play this song at our wedding
