As a professional woodworker, I’d be proud to add a chisel like that to my collection. I think you did a terrific job on it, and I like the new handle as well. ☮️
awesome video, and i personally think the chisel turned out brilliantly. one question though, what is the lathe you are using? it seems to be exactly the type im looking for. Thanks
This is a restoration, not a conservation. He’s restoring it to its peak condition and making it usable as a tool not conserving its historical value by repairing the handle. There’s a difference between repairing and conserving.
Am I the only one who thinks the back of the chisel needed taking back a lot more because it was definitely not flat, and that handle was vile. You seemed to get that pitting out a bit easy especially considering the concave on the back of the chisel which barely got ground . Maybe I'm a bit sceptical or that so called restoring was just a clean up job of a chisel dipped in vinegar for a few weeks, because the wood on the original handle definitely wasn't 60 years old. Just saying my observations ,i could be wrong but I doubt it .
Great job on the metal. Gross handle, totally ruined the aesthetics of the original design. The Japanese have been making chisels that way for a thousand years and you are going to reinvent the wheel, I think not.
Nice job. 👍
Good looking chisel sir.

Huge cool, very based

Sad the new handle cracked. Maybe a bit more time fitting?
Excelente trabalho de restauração, ficou ótimo.

👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏🥃🥃🥃
60 years old and no pitting? Bullshit.
Ye I thought so too. And that rust came off way too easily. Has to be fake/intentionally rusted for the views
Couldn't agree more
2 things the old handle was still good should have reused it! Next,we’re is the date on it telling you it was 60 years old????
Does it really matter on the date

Looking forward to your restoration videos, @user.

Thank you!
Have to say don’t know why you fitted a chisel to a chair leg, it’s way too big?
Totally fake restoration
