When I ran track, the best thing I learned was to lean into the turn because it’ll provide you with more momentum when coming out of it and hitting the straight. I’d also highly recommend using some sort stopwatch on your watch to keep your own time and to keep your pace

  • @tammylou7241

The best thing to do is what he said….run the straight and sprint the curves. I did that technique in bootcamp about a year ago. I struggled the entire time(MENTALLY) from the day I got to boot camp to the day that I passed my PRT the first time. IT IS ALL MENTAL! I didn’t run at all before boot camp. I mostly did cardio…like on the elliptical and I lifted weights. And this was a week or 2 before I shipped out. Because of Covid we didn’t get to run much…but you will run with your rdc/shipmates. Once I realized what I needed to work on…I applied that to EVERY sustained run we got while in freedom hall. DO NOT WALK…you will indeed fail. It’s actually frowned upon and show a sign of weakness, which you NEVER want to do. Keep applying pressure. The breathing techniques did not work for me like most. I just kept myself motivated, ran side by side with someone who needed the same time as me(still fail behind🤦🏽‍♀️) I never stopped, I ran the straights and sprinted the curves(there are 2 curves in every lap on the track) popped a cough dropped before and I sprinted my last lap!! Trust me this will help you!!!

I coach distance runners and can't think of anyone that can breath like that. Now I do know some that will do a 3in-4out cycle, but most will do a 2in-2out or 2in-3out. Some like the odd breath cycle because then their inhale starts on alternating legs. Some like symmetry and just go with 2-2

The breathing thing is what i need to get down and i would usually stop running knowing i can still go. And you're right when i do, tiredness comes on more than before and when my adrenaline calms its not so easy to go as hard as before.

Your RDC (just like mine) will tell you to not only think positive the whole time but to slowly increase your pace through your laps. I am a very slow runner (my final run was a 14:45 from a 20 minute one) so you don't mess with your breathing. Push a little harder each lap. Try to be sprinting your last one. Just zone out quietly sing, whatever it takes to just not stop. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SUSTAINED RUNS!!! Sorry this is long but it really does work.

Sounds like Navy basic really pushes it's running over what we were req'd to do in USAF Basic, but AF changes length of basic, what TIs can/cant do & added in an extra 2 weeks for MREs & living outdoors & the gas chamber. They keep going back & forth on # of weeks Basic lasts & rearranges its requirements, + rebuilt brand new fancy barracks style dorms several yrs ago. I did 7 mile non-flat outdoor runs in Illinois State Police Academy (worse than AF basic's physical req.) but why, when radios & bullets accomplish tasks far better than running/destroying knees. In 1992 AF basic was 6 wks & had no gas chamber. I cant imagine what Navy needs seamen to do on ship or coast that requires such running, but I didn't do the math for ur PFA or whatever Navy calls it, but I've always been a poor runner, but very lean & muscle capable in all other tested requirements. Oh, screw the Navy swim, easy it may be, I lack gills & grew up near Great Lakes, but AF in San Antonio worked much better 4 me, plus I get sea-sick too. God bless those who do the naval thing, but the AF finacially affords to treat us far better. Also, in basic every other word our TI said was f*ck, bi*ch, a-hole & a slew of profanity so bad that it was fierce, but hard for many of us to avoid laughing. So what kinda basic are they running now, a no-profanity at recruits program, that's not basic, that treating u like a baby. We even had ex-marine DIs in the AF as TIs, all of them scared the hell out of us by us simply not knowing just how serious/real their profane threats were. We believed everything they said & it wasn't pretty, but that's what everyone should expect when enlisting!

I hate people looking for tricks and shortcuts when it comes to any physical aspect of the military and i see this shit a lot in the NAVY. Just put in the work, stop eating shit and push your body. The PFA is a fucking joke and i still see people failing. If you cant run 1.5 miles or do a proper pushup or curlup just put in the work. This is why other branches make fun of the NAVY. We are the weakest and fattest branch of the military. Lets try to change that.

Will steroids or other performance enhancing drugs be a good idea? What about buying an individual to take the test in my stead? Is that a thing still?

Accept Jesus as the Son of God. According to the Bible, all Christians who recognize Jesus as the Son of God are able to be saved.
Read about Jesus’ death on the cross to understand salvation. In the Bible, God sends Jesus to Earth so that he can die and absolve humanity of original sin.
Devote yourself fully to God in everything you do. ...
If your confuse just do this if you want to be saved do this repent know that you are a sinner , believe that Christ died for you for your sins and That God raised him from the dead on the third day . If you believe it with all your heart all your soul and all your mind you will be saved by The Holy's of Holy's. Amen 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
